Social media gave us real time interactions. Brands talk to customers. Customers talk to brands. Why do we need technology in this process? We’re talking with brands online or offline but technology give us continuous communication. We can engage online, offline and mixing these worlds in one. Well, now there isn’t online and offline. Now we’re a part of digital world.

Hi My name is Peter Krauschar. I’m Managing Partner at the Mobberry agency. We do mostly online – offline projects using near field communication (nfc), rfid (radio frequency identification), qr codes, augmented reality and of course social media.
Today I will tell you how you can engage customers in a new way. but using technologies you probably know. When you ’ re thinking about engaging customers you can ’ t stay focus on one thing. You have to focus on many platforms and activities you will find on brand ’ s distribution wheel. Thats your job to cause that every piece of this puzzle work to get attention and engagement of your clients.
Let’s think how and where we engage our customers? Yes, social media and direct offline relations. But let’s start with social media.
Facebook. What a surprice? Facebook is one of these media that enabled real time communication between brand and customer. Before era of facebook our contact was like one way ticket. Brand speaks. You listen. Now we have got conversion. One to one interactive conversation, notonly one to many.
Twitter is another great platform you can use to engage in real time; now we text mostly through mobile devices.
And google plus. I could mention many other platforms but let’s focus on these three. All of them are platform that simplify a contact between brand and customers. Before social media brand was talking to us but we couldn’t answer. Ok, we could visit brand’s website, choose one of entry forms and try to be involved. Then we were waiting hours or days for contact. Now we’re talking in real time. Here and now. That’s the way of engaging customers.
But what if we will go a steap ahead? If we will mix social media with technology? Social media gave us real time interactins. Brands talk to customers. Customers talk to brands. Why do we need technology in this process? We’re talking with brands online or offline but technology give us continuous communication. We can engage online, offline and mixing these worlds in one. Well, now there isn’t online and offline. Now we’re a part of digital world. Let’s see some technologies that can improve brand –customer relation.
Qr codes. Some people say qr codes are dying but since yesterday i have seen many posters and ads here in Budapest that were using these codes. The same in Warsaw and in many other cities. Some of you could know that qr codes were developed by japan company dentsu in 1994. So, almost 20 years ago! Combining qr codes with social media lead us to win-win situation. There are benefits for both sides. Let’s scan this code above. The smartmobile will get a new member of its community on facebook. The next step should be a benefit for you. It could be premium content, coupon or any other benefit you can share with friends.
From qr codes it is not so far to near field communication and rfd. Today I won’t be talking about NFC concerning mobile banking as most of media and companies do for last few months. I assume that’s very hot topic here in Budapest too. I want to focus on using nfc in marketing. Qr codes and nfc could be used in loyalty or ambassador programs, as tickets or coupon buying super fast platform. Within just few clicks you can be involved in relations with brand, get benefit and share it with friends.
We prepared short film for you to show how we can combine social activities with nfc.
Augmented reality combines physical world with digital environment.
