Newton’s third of motion states that
every action has an EQUAL and
OPPOSITE reaction. This means
that when two objects interact with
each other, there is a force applied
on to each object. These forces are
called Action and Reaction forces.In
the example of the video the action
force is when a frog swims it pushes
the water back. The reaction force is
that the water pushes back the frog
so that its body can move forward.

S U M M A R Y
Newton’s first law of motion
states that an object at rest
stays at rest and object that
is in motion will stay in
motion with the same speed
and direction UNLESS it is
acted upon by an
UNBALANCED force. Which
means that an object will
continue to do what it is
doing unless some external
unbalanced force acts on
that object.In the example of
the video, when an object at
rest was acted on by and
unbalanced force it just
moved, however when the
object was moving the
object would accelerate or
change directions.
5. Second Law Of Motion
S U M M A R Y
Newton’s second law mostly
depends on acceleration.
Acceleration is the rate of
change in the velocity of an
object. Newton’s 2nd law of
motion states that the greater
the mass an object has the
more force it would take for
that object to accelerate. The
equation for the 2nd law is
F=ma. (Force: Newtons= Mass:
Kilograms X
Acceleration:meters per second
squared.)

The more force = More
acceleration
The less force= Less acceleration
6. Third Law Of Motion
S U M M A R Y
Newton’s 3rd law states that for
every action there is an equal and
opposite reaction. This means
that for every force there is a
reaction force that is equal in
magnitude but opposite in
direction. In the example of the
video when you sit down on a
chair you exert a downward
force on the chair while the
chair exerts a upward force on
your body. If the chair did not
exert this force the chair would
collapse.
