Bruce Springsteen goes back to his roots
in his newly released memoir,“Born to Run”
Springsteen talks all about his rocky relationship with his late father
and how it inspired his numerous number-one hit singles
NEW YORK- Tomorrow, Bruce Springsteen will release his memoir,“Born to Run,” in which he
gets personal about his rocky relationship with his late father and discusses the inspiration it
brought out for some of his hit singles.
Springsteen opens up about the distant relationship he had with his father, Doug Springsteen,
among other utterly honest and private confessions in his autobiography. Like most diehard
Springsteen fans know, the superstar’s album that got the most attention in Springsteen’s career
was also named “Born to Run.”
“I decided to title my autobiography the same title as a previous album of mine because I’m
telling the same story but on a different platform,” said Springsteen. “I’m essentially elaborating
on each line of my songs from that album, in my memoir.”
In this autobiography, we’re able to get insight on the thought process and mind of the
prestigious Bruce Springsteen. He discusses the obstacles of trying to escape his hometown and
own personal hell, Freehold, New Jersey, while also exploring the emotional struggle that was
detrimental to his love life. However, the topic that was the center of many of his songs and this
memoir, to which he credits who he is today to, is the disapproval and disconnection of his
verbally abusive father.
“I used to be my father. I used to be the man suffering in the dark with dissatisfaction toward a
Bruce Springsteen,” said Springsteen.“When my dad would look at me, he didn't see what he
needed to see. This was my crime."
Not many have the success story that Bruce Springsteen earned, but not many have endured all
of life’s obstacles that Springsteen holds onto. He unknowingly boarded an emotional
rollercoaster as a child and though Springsteen has had the opportunity to get off of that ride
