Have you ever thought about the working hours of the hotel boy or
wetter? May be you saw a hotel boy or wetter they start working at
the morning and they finish his work at late night. A hotel boy work
around 12 - 14 hours per day. Their wages also much lower than their
working hours. They have not maintain any safety or protection
whenever they cooking or doing something risky work.
Recently Bangladeshi people develop restaurants business and it has
created large job market. A restaurants owner appoint worker and
Work a lot more with them and pay less than that. They work lot of and
there working hours is also vary long. A hotel boy do not get any
holiday in a week.
Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006 defines all person working in any
establishment or industry, or administrative capacity or laboureres .
this means any non managemental post is protected as a labourer
under the labour act unless they are in specific sectors which are
execluded from the ambit of the act . Since the person I mentioned
above without a doubt fall withing the scope of the provided definition
the labour act shall apply for them as well. Because of the influence of
the media, high number of jobs being created and event recent years,
only workers working in the factories come to our mind when we hear
about labour right. Labour act is applicable for every sector not only for
factory worker.
Section 100 - of the Labour act, 2006 talk about the working hours of a
worker. “A worker don’t work more the 8 hours. if nessery the worker
can worke up to 10 hours in a day”. Lets see a hotel boy working hours
he work in hotel more then 10 hours per day extra 2 hours include with
over time. But hotel boys working 13 hours called basic working hours.
So I things hotel owner violate labour act.
Scetion 101 -of the Labour act, 2006 talk about the rest or meal . In this
section given “work for more then 6 hours in a day, unless he is given
an interval of 1 hour for rest or meal during that they”. But a hotel boy
work more then that but he don’t get any rets. In this purpose they also
violate the labour Act .
Section 103 – of the labour act, 2006 talk about the weekly holiday. In
this section given ”every worker employed in an establishment shall be
entitle to one and half day holiday in a week in case of shope or
commercial establishment or an indristrial establishment”. We already
talk about that a hotel boy work in a hotel around 13 hours a day and
weekly 7 days. They don’t get any weekly holiday except for a few
hotels. Hotel owner have a tendanency to over work so they don’t give
any leave in a week. They think that if I give him leave I will be harmed.
So they don’t keep any weekly holiday system only they give
occasionally or sick leave. If a worker is sick long time that time he
don’t get payment or some cases he lose her job. Only for the
pourpose of long time sicknes. Is inhuman for to all. So I things we need
to bring about change.
Chapter X and Xl– of the labour Act, 2006 talk about the wage of the
worker. Every worker has to be get payment withing seven workings
days. In reality a hotel boy don’t get payment withing seven days. In
some cases they get payment two month gotheather. A hotel boy get
wage for one month around 6 or 7 thousand taka only a month . They
are also deprive of minimum wage.
In the above we saw that in every sector a hotel boy be deprive. They
works lot but they don’t get any rest or break in the working hour. They
works morning to late night but they don’t get any overtime. In some
cases they don’t get her wage in time. A hotel boy don’t get any holiday
they have to be work 7 day in a week. They only get long festival leave
and sick leave. So I things Let them be evaluated because they are the
part of our society. They are working to move our country forward.

Only for the pourpose of long time sicknes. Is inhuman for to all. So I things we need to bring about change. Chapter X and Xl– of the labour Act, 2006 talk about the wage of the worker. Every worker has to be get payment withing seven workings days. In reality a hotel boy don’t get payment withing seven days. In some cases they get payment two month gotheather. A hotel boy get wage for one month around 6 or 7 thousand taka only a month . They are also deprive of minimum wage.

They works morning to late night but they don’t get any overtime. In some cases they don’t get her wage in time. A hotel boy don’t get any holiday they have to be work 7 day in a week. They only get long festival leave and sick leave. So I things Let them be evaluated because they are the part of our society. They are working to move our country forward.
