mental health by being advocates, providing our
own specialized care, and promoting the behavioral
health field within our own ranks

• 67% of Wisconsin veterans are 55 years or

Veterans have a stigma against individuals that
have not served. By providing specialists that are
veterans themselves, we can overcome that issue.
Veterans are a high-risk population for mental
health concerns. Approximately 50% of veterans
receive the care they need after service. Of that
percentage, 37-50% have substance abuse
disorders.
Veterans Affairs funding and treatments are at the
whim of congress. We aim to circumvent concerns
of lack of treatment due to funding concerns.

Like the Armed Services we represent, we will
maintain a organization based in diversity.
We will make it a point to hire individuals from a
multitude of backgrounds.
One area of emphasis we will have, is the hiring of
veterans and disabled veterans.

MEET THE NEEDS OF CONTINUED MENTAL HEALTH
CARE OF OUR VETERAN POPULATION BY HELPING
PROVIDE TRAINED PERSONNEL THAT HAVE
EXPERIENCED THE SAME THINGS THEY HAVE AND
PROVIDING LOW, TO NO-COST SERVICES. THIS IS A
CHALLENGE THAT THE WAR WITHIN HAS GIVEN
OURSELVES TO OVERCOME AND TO BE THAT
