WHERE TO START
When your getting your tattoo some things you should consider
include:
a. 20 years from now will you still like the tattoo?
b. Think about the career you want to go into, are tattoos
acceptable?
c. Does the design of your tattoo make the statement you want
it to?

THE ARTIST MATTERS
Many different tattoo artists have different styles, make sure you
research the tattoo parlor and artist.
a. Is the studio established?
b. Is the studio well cleaned and taken care of ?
c. Are the needles properly sterilized?
d. Check the history of the shop, to determine if they’ve had
any problems in the past.

AFTER THE TATTOO
After receiving your tattoo there are several steps you should take
to keep in clean and uninfected.
a. You should be changing your bandages at least once a day.
b. Make sure the bandages stay dry.
c. Wash the tattoo with a wash cloth and some water.
d. After a week or so remove the bandages, DO NOT leave them
on too long, you will cause damage to the tattoo.
5.
AFTER THE PIERCING
After any type of piercing you should start a regular cleaning
routine so that nothing is irritated or infected.
a. Mouth piercing; Buy some Q-tips, Listerene, anti-bacterial soap
b. Belly button; Salt water cleansing and anti- bacterial cleanser
c. Ear; Anti bacterial cleanser, also be sure to twist the piercing a
couple times a day, making sure that it does not seal shut.
6.
INFECTION
Getting ainfection in your tattoo or piercing is more dangerous
then you think, here are some things to do if that occurs.
a. If your lip piercing is infected, NEVER touch it, unless you
wash your hands. Also make sure your using mouth wash multiple
times a day to clean.
b. If your ear piercing is infected take the piercing out after
consulting your doctor, you can always try again later on.
