Insures the child’sregular and timely presence at all lessons, recitals, and events
Presence during occasional lesson time in order to be on track with student progress as well as keeping in close contact with the
teacher concerning their child’slearning

Teacher Responsibilities
Teach systematic lessons that accommodate the student’slearning style, progress towardsa reasonable goal
Communicate with parents concerning their child’sprogress
Research and organize opportunities such as field trip concerts, guest musicians for music workshops, Certificate of Merit, recitals,
and festivals
Make sure the student fully understands the assignment for the week
Research and expand musical repertoire, discounts for music materials, and professional connections for the students
2. Student Absences and Make Ups
No refunds will be given for missed lessons. Make ups will be given for adequate reasons for absence. Parentsshould notify the teacher of all
absences at least 24 hours before lesson time

Schedule conflictswith other commitments should be kept at a minimum and should be discussed on an individual basis with the teacher at
least 24 hours prior to lesson time.
Tardiness will cut into the lesson time and not be compensated with extra time at the end of the lesson as it will disrupt the flow of the schedule.
Teacher Absences
The teacher may need to be absent for the followingreasons
Illness
Attendance to a Music Teachers Association of California conference
Occasional family vacation
Family/medical emergency
All absences by the teacher will be made up making every effort to work with the schedules of the students. Studentsw ill be notified at least two
weeksin advance of any teacher absences. If they are emergencies, the students will be notified as soon as possible and either the lessons will be
made up or a temporary substitute teacher will be hired depending on the nature of the emergency.
Tuition
Tuition is paid at the first lesson of every month for that month – check and cash are both accepted. If payment is ten days late, the student will
be charged a $20 late fee. If payment is twenty dayslate, the teacher will stop giving lessons until the payment is made. The parents will be
notified three days before the late fee deadline and late termination deadline via email.

$35.00 per 30 minute duet lesson
Music Workshop – 90 minutes, FREE
Music workshops are not required, but are highly encouraged as they develop musical skills in a group environment and relationshipsbetween
students. Sibling discounts are not available.
Other expenses include sheet music, lesson workbooks, theory workbooks. For new students, the first two books are complimentary. Other
expenses may include field trip concert tickets, Certificate of Merit and festival registration fees, and recital fees. These will be lowered as much
as possible for the studentsand parents using teacher/student discounts.
