2. Warren’s D.E.B. Strategic Plan 2020-2025
● Invest in Relationships with Families and the Community
○ The diversity of our district is a strength that can only be leveraged when we make every effort to engage
families, prioritize reaching out to traditionally underrepresented communities, and ensure diverse
representation in our decision-making bodies.
● Invest in Meeting the Needs of the Whole Child
○ Every child has unique strengths, challenges, and potential. In order to meet each student’s needs, we must
seek to better understand their diverse backgrounds and identities; provide the necessary support that honors
their whole self; and ensure all stakeholders, especially families, are empowered to best support their child
● Invest in People
○ We recruit and retain the most talented people, because our students thrive when they have role models who
share their background identity; are trained to identify and support all their needs; and are active members of
our community.
● Invest in the Futures of our Graduates
○ The diversity of our students includes their backgrounds, identities, learning styles, languages, and interests.
The JOG skills empower every student to advocate for themselves, their community and their future. We
ensure every student gets the support they need to be successful and that we listen to the voices of our
students, families, and community, especially those who have always been heard.
● Invest in Efficiencies
○ We are the “Pride of the Far Eastside” and our community deserves buildings, infrastructure, and processes
that reflect that pride. Every student deserves to go to school in a building that is welcoming, safe, and
sustainable. We target our resources and involve the necessary stakeholders to ensure this is a reality across
our entire community
3. Our Vision of Equity
We will continue to fight for equity until we can longer
predict our student outcomes based on their gender, race,
or ethnicity.
