Pilot Grant
• Funding for one short film of up to five minutes in duration
• Maximum grant – £5,000
• 20% match funding requirement
Studio Grant
Funding for between two and four films of up to 10 minutes in duration
• Maximum grant – £30,000
• 20% match funding requirement
• Track record of filmmaking with young people necessary
14. British Council
The British Council plays an instrumental role in promoting British short films
by talented new filmmakers to film festivals and partners around the world. We
have a long established relationship with more than 48 international film
festivals and we are often the first port of call for short film programmers
seeking interesting work from the UK.
We select outstanding short films (from the hundreds submitted to us each year)
to promote through this scheme. There are no deadlines, all genres are
eligible and generally anything under 45 minutes is classed as a short.

social issue media projects which go beyond traditional screens –
integrating video with content across media platforms, from video
