2. Introduction
• Novato, California, resident Michael “Mike” Melville has
worked his way up from regional rental manager of
Enterprise Rent-A-Car to his present position as regional
vice president. Active in community giving, the Novato
resident has also represented Enterprise in the donation of
a vehicle as part of the Putting Out the Fire benefit.
The Putting Out the Fire benefit of November 15, 2015, was
initiated to help people affected by the Lake County fire
that had occurred just two months before. The fire,
deemed one of the most damaging in California history,
spread across 76,067 acres of Sonoma, Napa, and Lake
Counties.
3. Lake County Fire
• It destroyed over 1,300 homes and claimed four lives
before firefighters were able to bring it under control.
The benefit consisted of a six-hour concert featuring
many performers, including singer Norman
Greenbaum, Doors’ guitarist Robby Krieger, drummer
Danny Seraphine of the band Chicago, and country
band Diamond Rio. Donations were collected
throughout the event, and emcee John O’Hurley
auctioned off guitars signed by celebrities. In addition,
Mike Melville and Enterprise Rent-A-Car presented a
car to a couple that had lost their vehicle in the fire.
