2. Ischemic Experiment
•Conducted fluorometry experiment modeling ischemic condition
•Ensured machine working properly for most accurate signal detection
and conversion to digital output for LabVIEW display
•Following slides show results of experiment once signal processing
techniques applied (i.e. Butterworth filter, drift reduction, etc.)
5. Problems with LabVIEW Events
• These first two graphs did not show the events in the correct places
(MATLAB plots gave many events that were not part of our
experiment)
• Had to determine where actual events took place and try to debug
MATLAB code
6. Fluorometry Analysis with Correct Events-
NADH
• Problem:
• Ischemia should have sharp increase in NADH
concentration
• While we did have increase, it should have been
more dramatic
7. Fluorometry Analysis with Correct Events –
FAD
• Problem:
• FAD should decrease slightly during
ischemia
• We do have slight change, but in
wrong direction
9. Upcoming Plan for Fluorometry
• Work on improving experimental protocol/instrument signal
detection to obtain correct results
• Perform heart tissue drug experiments
