Description: This is a 2 or 4- week elective rotation for PG-2 or PG-3 residents

2. Demonstrate competency in common rheumatologic procedures
o Ordering and interpreting antibody tests
o Arthrocentesis (knee, ankle)

o Rheumatology Clinic (90% Available Time)

o Ordering and interpreting antibody tests

o In-Patient/ER Consultation (10% Available Time)

Family Medicine Continuity Clinic
3 (PG-2) or 4 (PG-3) half-days per week
Family Medicine Clinic Call
As assigned, usually 1 day/2 weeks
No activities in the afternoon post-call
Evaluation:
o Rotation Evaluation by Rheumatology Preceptor
o Rotation Evaluation by family medicine faculty preceptor based on the
following expectations:
o Complete activity log (attached) and turn in to faculty preceptor
o Answer and turn in the following Short Management Problems in
Swanson’s Family Practice Review, 3rd
Edition: 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34,
35, 121
o Do a pre-clinic presentation to available residents, faculty and staff
utilizing a patient seen in clinic demonstrating mastery of one of the
common rheumatologic signs, symptoms or diagnoses
