  announced	
  yesterday	
  from	
  the	
  company’s	
  headquarters	
  in	
  
Paramus	
  N.J.,	
  a	
  plan	
  to	
  change	
  the	
  company’s	
  name	
  from	
  Zoom	
  Shoes	
  to	
  Athlete’s	
  choice.	
  	
  
Effective	
  two	
  months	
  from	
  today,	
  Zoom	
  Shoes	
  (ZM)	
  will	
  overhaul	
  its	
  entire	
  brand	
  under	
  the	
  new	
  name	
  
Athlete’s	
  Choice	
  (ATH).	
  All	
  Zoom	
  Shoes	
  subsidiaries	
  (excluding	
  its	
  publishing	
  divisions	
  Runner’s	
  Way	
  and	
  
Sports	
  Week)	
  will	
  operate	
  under	
  the	
  Athlete’s	
  Choice	
  label,	
  creating	
  a	
  consistent	
  brand	
  across	
  the	
  firm’s	
  
holdings.

  change

  Choice

  Zoom	
  Shoes	
  brand.	
  Starting	
  with	
  a	
  new	
  logo,	
  designed	
  in	
  partnership	
  with	
  the	
  Bass	
  Associates	
  Firm,	
  
the	
  new	
  Athlete’s	
  Choice	
  brand	
  will	
  turn	
  its	
  focus	
  to	
  increased	
  year-­‐round	
  advertising	
  initiatives,	
  
partnerships	
  and	
  tie-­‐ins	
  with	
  superstar	
  athletes,	
  and	
  a	
  more	
  aggressive	
  sales	
  force	
  focused	
  on	
  growth.	
  
All	
  online	
  initiatives	
  will	
  take	
  place	
  on	
  the	
  firm’s	
  new	
  website,	
  www.athleteschoice.com.	
  
Zoom	
  Shoes	
  expects	
  to	
  spend	
  about	
  $75	
  million	
  on	
  the	
  entire	
  conversion	
  process,	
  which	
  will	
  include	
  
changes	
  in	
  packaging,	
  point-­‐of-­‐sale	
  materials,	
  and	
  most	
  notably	
  new	
  advertising	
  efforts.	
  The	
  entire	
  
process	
  should	
  take	
  roughly	
  a	
  year	
  to	
  complete,	
  with	
  the	
  bulk	
  of	
  changes	
  taking	
  place	
  the	
  day	
  of	
  
implementation.
