Three members of the tram-
poline club, which is based at
Gloucester's GL1 leisure centre,
are competing at the British Tram-
poline Championship Finals in Liv-
erpool.

Lawson said: "Compet-
ition is tight this year
as more people have
become involved in disabled
trampolining.
"The two boys in the disabled
discipline have quite severe learn-
ing difficulties and face stiff com-
petition as initiatives have got lots
more people into the sport."
She added: "I'm excited because
our mainstream girl only started
competing at this level this season.
"She has done two competitions
before this one and is competing in

turning 15 in August. It will be a
tough challenge for them all but I
want to wish them good luck."
The club has 375 members and
caters for people with a range of
physical and learning disabilities

There are classes for
infants, juniors and
adults, the youngest
member is two and the
eldest 66.
In addition to improv-
ing core muscles, tram-
polining has psychological
benefits.
"Using the trampolines
helps them concentrate
and learn to wait their
turn," said Dawn.
Aspire Springers
specialise in the dis-
abled trampoline dis-
cipline, holding six
sessions from Monday
to Saturday.
