Technical skills and competences Knowledge of theoretical galaxy formation and evolution, in particular regarding the role of the
baryonic gas falling into the potential well of the DM halo, and its implications in galaxy formation’s
models studied by means of N-Body numerical simulations (Master Thesis).
Very good knowledge of the theoretical and numerical aspects of Cosmic Microwave Background
(CMB) photons lensed due to matter distributions given by numerical simulations (Ph.D. thesis), as
well as of different techniques and issues related to a N-Body simulation, especially for the
hydrodynamics regarding the baryonic gas component and star formation (Master Thesis and Ph.D.
thesis).
Technical expertise in producing full-sky mock catalogues of simulated galaxy to study cross-
correlations between CMB photons and other matter tracers. Very familiar with all the statistical tools
needed to manage and analyse data extracted from mock survey (Ph.D. thesis).
High theoretical background regarding the LCDM cosmological model, its limitations and its possible
developments especially within different dark energy scenarios.
Good ability in code structuring and optimization, especially regarding implementation of massively
parallel programs to use High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures (University classes,
Master thesis and Ph.D. thesis). Good knowledge of parallel scientific computing facilities as NERSC
in USA or CINECA in Italy.
Ability of managing and analysing large amount of data from simulations by means of popular
software (e.g. C, C++, IDL, Gnuplot, Phyton, Fortran90).
Member of the ESA-Euclid Scientific Consortium.
