Marylou Astorga will complete her practicum at the City of El Paso Department of Public Health under the supervision of Sue Beatty. Her major project involves implementing an asthma education program for children ages 8-11 in El Paso. This will include reviewing literature on childhood asthma, developing goals and objectives for an asthma display board, creating the display board, presenting it at a community health fair, and creating a social media post to promote asthma awareness. Her minor project is to translate the health education and promotions section of the Department's website into Spanish.
