KEAN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES THIS YEAR’S COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER
Brandon Stanton, founder of popular blog Humans of New York
Newark, NJ - May 19 - Kean University announces its commencement speaker of the 2016 graduating
class. Blogger, photographer, and creator of popular website Humans of New York,Brandon Stanton will
speak amongst the thousands of graduates this year at Kean’s ceremony at the Prudential Center in
Newark,NJ.
Stanton graduated from University of Georgia as a history major. Before becoming a popular blogger and
photographer, Stanton worked in Chicago for three years and traded bonds. After losing his job, Stanton
moved to New York, which is where he decided to start his blog, Humans of New York (HONY) with
nearly fourteen million followers on social media today.
“We are extremely delighted and excited to have announced this year’s commencement speaker for our
school. Mr. Brandon Stanton is an amazing human being with many life skills that he will be able to
inform our graduates about, while still being able to relate with their own issues,” said Dr. Dawood Farahi
president of Kean University.
Kean will hold its annual graduation services at the Prudential Center on May 19th at 8:30 a.m. Tickets
will be required for all guests and each graduate will be given six tickets for the ceremony. Doors will
open at 7 a.m. that morning and guests will be required to be seated at 8:30 a.m. in time for the ceremony
to begin.
