Unseen: multi-sensory musical chair installation
For this installation roomfactory was specifically commissioned to produce a set of vibro-
tactile multi-sensory musical chairs in collaboration with Robert Jack, at the Centre for Digital
Music (Queen Mary University, London) for the Incloodu festival. The bespoke furniture body
(a combination of birch plywood sheets and glue) was designed and even hand-made by
Martin Glover (pictured) at roomfactory.
The prototype blue cushions have been supplied by Robert and incorporate vibrating pads,
making the experience of ‘music’ or sound a more tactile one.
