There are various styles of Nike shoes that will be ideal for the
season and the shoes
can be ranked from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best style. The first
style which I would rank at
number 1 is the Nike Airforce 1 shoes and this is because
despite the shoes being released
many years ago, the shoes are still very popular among the
youth and other ages. The shoes
are ideal and come in different colors and there is an option for
an all-white Airforce 1
(Trembath, 2020). I rank the shoes at number 1 because of their
classy look and the pricing of
the shoes; the shoes cost less than $100 and considering the
design and style that is a good
value for money item.
Coming in number 2 another style for the Nike shoes for the
season will be the Nike Air
Max 90 shoes and this is because of the various features which
are guaranteed when one buys
the shoes. One of the shoes that will be very ideal is the comfort
that comes with wearing the
shoes. The shoes are still very popular and are breathable which
means that one does not
have their feet heated all day from wearing the shoes. The shoes
have Air Max padding which
helps provide cushion and support for the person wearing the
shoes (Trembath, 2020). The
shoes are not only comfortable but also good looking and
brighter colors would be very ideal
for the season. The upper part of the shoe is made up of quality
textile and leather and this
makes the shoes last longer.
Another style of Nike shoes which I would rank at number 5 is
the Nike Air Max 95
shoes and this is because of how unique the shoe is; it has a
lacing system that gives one a
locked-in feel and the shoes have a mid-foam sole that offers
additional comfort to the foot
while still retaining the stylishness of Nike shoes.
! 2
At number 4 the style of the Nike shoes is the Nike blazer shoes
which have a wide
range of good features. The shoes have roots that are connected
to basketball but the shoe
has been turned into an everyday shoe because of its simplicity
and comfort. The shoes are
high on top and have a state-of-the-art design which makes them
ideal for the season. The
shoe is a mix of style and vintage and when looking at the shoes
they look like they came
straight out of the 1970s.
The Nike Air Jordan low SE shoes are very good and stylish and
I rank the shoes at
number 5. The shoes are available in low, mid, and top
silhouettes and thus making them
even better. Customers will not only be able to select from the
beautiful colors in which the
shoes come in but also the design of the shoes. The shoes have
been in place for a very long
time and constantly new colors are launched which help give the
shoes a new feel. The shoes
have a hidden air sole unit and leather overlays that provide
more style to the shoes.
Nike Cortez shoes will rank at number 6 from the selected
styles and silhouettes. The
shoe began as a running silhouette but due to the color, style,
and design of the shoes, people
started wearing the shoes more on regular occasions. The shoes
are classy because of the use
of premium leather on the upper part of these shoes. The shoes
also have rubber soles and
hence have comfort and durability. The shoes have a
minimalistic design that will be ideal for
a casual look during the season. The shoes can be blended with
various outfits and give a very
cool and attractive casual look.
! 3
The Nike Air Huarache remains one of the most popular Nike
designs and this is because
of the look that the shoes have. I rank the shoes at number 7.
The shoes come in more vibrant
colors and hence will portray the theme for the season. The
shoes have a unique feature that
makes the shoes stand out and that is the lining of the shoes.
The lining of the shoes is designed
to take up the shape of the sole of the person wearing the shoes
and hence acts as an exoskeleton
for the wearer.
Nike has always been a brand associated with athletes and the
Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger
8 Shoes are ideal for runners because of their design. The shoes
are lightweight which means that
the runners will not get exhausted from the weight of the shoes
and that will make them run more
swiftly (Guiness et al., 2020). The bottom of the shoe has been
designed to deal with the rough
terrain of the land when running.
The ninth shoe will be the Nike Space Hippie 04 Shoes which
are representative of the
look that the Nike shoes will have in the future. The shoes are
good because of their use of
recycling where 25% of the shoes are made up from recycling
plastics and other products
making the Nike brand a global sustainable brand. With their
super-cushioned soles, the shoes
can be said to be one of the most comfortable shoes and hence
they are also ideal for women.
Nike Air Zoom Pulse Shoes rank number ten in the styles and
when it comes to the health
of the person wearing the shoes, these shoes have been ranked
as the most comfortable shoes by
nurses and other healthcare professionals as they help the
wearer be more comfortable. The shoes
have a slip-on design that makes them easy to put on and take
out.

Reynolds Mission Statement
“We are committed to providing our customers quality products
with the highest engineering standards.”
Reynolds Vision Statement
“We are committed to achieving our goal of being a market
leader for engineering solutions and will investment in technical
innovation. Our desire is to continue to expand our markets, our
technical competence, and our intellectual curiosity to serve our
customers.”
Additional Information
Reynolds Tool & Die is an automotive component manufacturer
supplying suspension pieces and technology to both other
suppliers and major U.S. and foreign manufacturers. Annual
revenue is around $50 million, and the company is profitable.
Reynolds has production facilities at their headquarters in
Akron, OH; in Bloomington, IN; and in Memphis, TN.
Approximately 300 people work for Reynolds, including 7 in
IT. The IT staff is broken down as follows:
· IT Director
· 2 Help Desk personnel
· 3 Network Engineers
· 1 Software Engineer, primarily supporting the company’s ERP
system
One network engineer works in Bloomington, one in Memphis,
and the rest of the IT staff is located in Akron.
The three sites are networked via an MPLS circuit. In addition
to SAP® software, the company uses Microsoft® Office 2010
for administrative work along with several specialized CAD
programs for design. The SAP software is two versions behind,
but not at end of its life. A data center is in Akron, while the
other two sites have smaller hardware footprints consisting of
Microsoft Exchange servers for email, a small file and print
server, and redundant Active Directory servers. EMC Storage
Area Network (SAN) devices are at each site. Redundant backup
appliances are in Akron and Bloomington, and data can be
cycled among the SANS for further redundancy. While some
server virtualization has been achieved, only about 20 percent
of all servers have been virtualized with the help of VMWare.
All sites use Cisco® switches, routers, and firewalls. Servers,
desktops, laptops and printers are all HP®, and are between 3
and 5 years old and the desktops and Laptops use Windows® 7
as the operating system. All servers are on Microsoft Server
2012.
There are no cloud applications. There has been a demand by
administrative personnel and engineers for integrating mobile
devices with Microsoft Exchange and other apps but to date the
company has not implemented a BYOD (Bring Your Own
Device) or a MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution.
The IT budget typically is between $1.2 and $1.5 million
annually, depending on capital expense. Note that this budget
ONLY covers hardware, software, services, and licensing.
Personnel costs are not included, nor do you need to include
them for the Week 4 budget assignment.
This year the company is embarking on significant expansion. A
joint venture has been signed with a firm from Mexico Peraltada
LLC in order to gain access to a new supplier market. Both
companies will remain independent, but Reynolds will exchange
engineering expertise for a percentage of sales in Mexico and
there will be joint development of intellectual property.
Peraltada uses Microsoft Office 2016 and Oracle as their ERP
solution. Desktop and laptops are HP, and they are running
Microsoft Server 2016. They employ around 200 people with 5
in IT. The company provides key employees with iPhones for
mobile access to their network.
In an effort to diversify, the company has purchased a small
company in Vancouver, Canada that makes light aircraft landing
gear components. P.T. Tracy, LLC employs about 80 people,
with 3 in IT. They also use SAP for an ERP solution but one
version newer than Reynolds. They use Microsoft Office 2013
and Windows 10 for their desktop OS. Their firewall solution is
Palo Alto and they use Cisco routing and switching equipment.
Servers, desktops and laptops are all Dell®. They also have
implemented a BYOD policy, using the MDM solution VMWare
AirWatch®, supporting both Apple® and Samsung® Galaxy
phones. They are running Microsoft Server 2016.
All three companies in the scenario have a Microsoft Enterprise
License in various stages of life; none will be up for renewal at
the same time.

Long-range IT Plan Focusing on Innovation
CMGT/578 v11
Page 2 of 2Long-range IT Plan Focusing on Innovation
For this assignment, you’re a senior IT manager at Reynolds
Tool & Die. You have been asked to write a 3-page plan
detailing how you will create a culture of innovation in IT
operations and integrate IT innovation into long-range strategic
planning. Your proposal should include recommendations for
specific technology innovations, and explain how you expect
these innovations to drive business success over time.
This assignment requires you to analyze the company’s goals;
analyze how IT innovation can contribute to those goals and
how the current environment might be able to support
innovation. After you have completed your analyses, you will
synthesize all of this information into a long-range IT plan
focusing on innovation. Specifically, your plan needs to address
two things:
1. What IS innovations can you propose that align with the
strategic long-range plans of both IT and the organization?
2. How can you create a culture of innovation within your IT
organization?
Headings should be as follows:
I. Long-range, Innovative
Solution
s Planning
Consider this a wish list. What innovative technologies will you
propose to help Reynolds accomplish its long-range goals? For
example, does artificial intelligence have a place in the
organization? Big Data? What about next generation cloud
technologies? How will mobility (related to mobile devices) fit
into your planning?
II. Creating a Culture of Innovation in the IT Organization
In order to implement creative solutions, you need an
innovative team. Going forward, you’ll want to hire the right
people and train them the right way. You already have staff who
have been doing things a specific way, and you need to create a
culture of innovation throughout the organization. How will you
do that? Some areas to address are:
i. IT Staffing and Training
Does your current staff have the right skill sets? What skill sets
will they need to add in order to be innovative? What are the
potential budget considerations for ongoing training?
ii. R&D
Can you make the case for research and development (R&D)
within Reynolds’ IT organization? R&D isn’t synonymous with
product development; it’s a function tasked with pursuing
forward-thinking, innovative strategies, even strategies that the
business doesn’t expect to pay off in the short term but hopes
will pay off eventually in the long term.

Nielsen PRIZM Life stage Groups
One of the customer groups identified in the Nielsen PRIZM
Life stage Groups is the
Upscale Younger Family Mix. This group is made up of
individuals who are between ages 25 to
44 that mostly have kids. The group is characterized by
individuals who use average
technologies such as computers and mobile devices for banking,
online research, and streaming
services. Looking at the employment level of the customer
segment most of them are
professionals and others are in management positions in the
organizations in which they work
for. The customer segment is described as graduate plus which
means that the individuals have a
minimum of a university degree. Some of the individuals from
this group are homeowners while
others are not. These are upscale families that boast of having
dual income sources as well with
most of them having newer homes as well.
The lifestyle of this group describes people who like to have
fun and use their income to
enjoy themselves. This segment owns a Volkswagen car which
is a good car but does not fit into
the category of luxury cars. The group has been said to eat at
Cold stone creamery which is
known to have very quality products but slightly higher prices
compared to its competitors. The
customers shop at Anthropologie which is a business that deals
with clothing and accessories.
The segment has smartphones which it uses to view some of the
dating sites and also for
streaming services. This group is made up of individuals who
shop quite a lot and this is because
they have limited responsibilities and commitments compared to
the other customer segments.

Competitors
Adidas
Adidas is a shoe-selling company that competes directly with
Nike. Looking at the brand
value of the company it ranks at 3 with Nike being in the top
position. The rank of the brand
value is due to the consistency of the company to produce
quality products year after year.
Adidas dedicates most of its efforts to the advertisement and
growing its brand which means
with consistency the brand could easily catch up with Nike. The
company has a more diversified
portfolio when compared to Nike. It offers many products whi ch
are designed for different
customer groups and a wide range of sports. The company also
has a more effective supply chain
when compared to Nike and also has a very effective marketing
strategy (Muhamad, 2021).
However, in terms of profitability and market share, Nike
controls a bigger share when compared
to Adidas. Adidas has also been linked to forced labor and
racism impacted the brand image of
the company.
Puma
When Nike is compared to Puma some differences could be
noted and one of them is
profitability. Nike has more revenues when compared to Puma.
It makes around $18 billion
annually compared to the $4 billion which is made by Puma
(Andal et al., 2020). The pricing of
Puma is better compared to the pricing of Nike. Nike has been
known to have very expensive
shoes compared to its competitors. However, when it comes to
innovation and styles of the shoe
Nike ranks top of Puma and most other brands. Nike comes up
with more unique designs and
! 3
styles when compared to Puma. When it comes to the market
position, Nike ranks top of Puma
as well and this is because Nike has been able to gain control
over markets in different regions.
Price structure, appearance, selection, and quality of the
competing products
Adidas
When it comes to the quality of the products based on the
customer reviews the shoes
made by Adidas are of better quality compared to those which
have been made by Nike. Adidas
emphasizes quality over quantity and even goes a step further to
talk to athletes about their
preferences before implementing most product designs. Nike,
however, has an upper hand when
it comes to innovativeness and design which makes its shoes
have a better appearance compared
to that of Adidas (Elena & Egor, 2018). It is these appearance
features that drive the sales of the
company high. When looking at the selection both companies
offer a wide range of products.
The pricing of the Nike is higher compared to the prices which
are offered by Adidas; the prices
could be linked to innovation and design of the shoes
Puma
Looking at the prices of the shoes Puma has inexpensive shoes
whereas Nike has very
expensive shoes. This means that the low-income earners will
mostly prefer the shoes which are
sold by Puma as opposed to those Nike (Andal et al., 2020).
When it comes to selection; Nike
has a more diverse selection and variety compared to Puma.
Shoes do not come in much variety
and design and that could make finding the right fit hard for the
customers. When it comes to the
! 4
quality of the shoes Nike ranks higher compared to Puma (Elena
& Egor, 2018). Nike has high-
quality designs and styles and this can be linked to the intensive
marketing efforts which are put
in by the brand. Nike shoes are also more attractive because of
the innovativeness and designs
used by the company.

Fashion Brand
Part One
The company selected is Louis Vuitton which has gained
popularity among the populace
globally. It is among the famous fashion brands which are
trusted for its high-quality products
thus attracting most clients (Massot, 2020). It was developed in
early 1854 after the creator
needed to introduce a new technique into the fashion system.
The primary objective for the
fashion brand is designing fashion light fashion wear that would
fit all the clients according to
their tastes and preferences. It has attracted both l ocal and
international clientele population thus
maintaining to have high-profit returns.
They target high-end customers because the products are pretty
expensive due to their
high-quality level. One major characteristic of the target client
is that they must be deep into the
fashion wear company. Louis Vuitton designs clothes and
accessories specifically for red carpet
events and significant occasions (Massot, 2020). Most are
located in the wealthy economic group
thus facilitating massive purchases of the commodities. The
organization targets those clients
will flashy lifestyles that care about wearing brands with
globally-recognized labels. The target
population is wealthy thus depends on the fashion wear for
cloth designs that depict their societal
status.
Demographics expound on an individual’s character especially
their education level. For
instance, the targets customers are educated and have enough
information regarding general
fashion thus are on the lookout for the brands (Massot, 2020).
Louis Vuitton has no gender
specifics because both women and men are targeted to purchase
the commodities. The brand has
manufactured commodities both for the young and old thus has
no age limits. The primary
2
objective is to address as many clients ensuring that they have
received products according to
their tastes and preferences.
Part Two
The selected theme is date night styling where couples should
wear matching outfits for
the special night out. The theme is selected because a date night
needs people to match their
personalities and the best expression is through fashion wear
(Massot, 2020). The theme should
have vibrant colors that have significant meanings according to
the people on set. Louis Vuitton
brand has a fashion section that has been dedicated to couples
on date night. Moreover, the
theme has been selected since it would be outstanding and
unique touch. The primary objective
is ensuring that one finds an attractive branded outfit that would
match their tastes and
preferences. Both parties in the theme are after creating an
impression and leaving a mark.
Fashion forecast presentation means allocating some ideas that
would work according to
the presented themes. The client needs to be comfortable in the
theme outfits ensuring that they
have matched their personality (Massot, 2020). The theme could
be formal or casual depending
on the client’s purpose for the date. Therefore, they should be
dressed to match that occasion and
the colors must accompany the theme for style and personality
reflection. For instance, one
speculation for a date night theme outfit is a pair of branded
jeans and a brightly colored tank top
and some heels. That would make a perfect theme for both
formal and casual date nights.
One of the prominent colors worn during the date night themes
is black. It is a direct
indicator of elegance and creates a composed environment. It
fits both casual and formal date
nights thus will draw minimal attention from the outside crowd
(Massot, 2020). It can be
accompanied by a few accessories ensuring a completely elegant
outfit. Read is another unique
3
color that can be used on the theme. It sends an extremely
strong message especially about
Cotton being the best textile texture for date-themed outfits.
!
Part Three
Style and silhouette expound on how a themed cloth fits an
individual’s body and how it
draws on their skin according to their liking. When designing
the date night outfit, the creator has
the client’s body shape in mind and speculates how it will
exactly fit and adorn the features. The
major challenge encountered when developing the silhouette for
the date night theme is aligning
it with a media celebrity (Massot, 2020). However, the client
should be comfortable enough to
have silhouettes developed from their body features facilitating
their comfortability in the
4
designer clothing. Therefore, client preferences should be sorted
to outline the perfect type of
silhouette for their body.
The first silhouette creation is a body-fitting cloth throughout
the body. It is specifically
used in designing trousers fitting trousers and needs an
individual with a small waist lining for a
perfect appearance. The second silhouette creation is copied
from the hourglass and has been
developed specifically for a thin waist person. Most wedding
dresses are developed from that
unique idea. Another silhouette designed is a ball-like skirt that
has been fitted with many
underlying nets to form around and buffer shape. Such skirts
have been traditionally used for an
extended period.
Part IV
The selected group is the upper crust individual who is wealthy
and has no children. They
have a consistent buying behavior and are well informed about
fashion. Two competitors are
Nike and Addis’s fashion wear (Massot, 2020). The major
strength is that they are not made for a
specific population are given to someone else. The quality
products have been developed by
duplicating the main appearance. It has a cheaper price since it
has a minimal quality that is
required to live through.
Part V
8- body fitting silhouette
7- hourglass silhouette
5- ball-shaped silhouette
My placement criteria on a scale of one to ten depended on how
fast the outfit was purchased
from the market. Most of the trousers developed using body-
fitting silhouettes have gained more
5
clients since most of them want clothes that will properly
reflect their features. It can be worn in
the selected theme and also on other occasions (Massot, 2020).
It gives a client an excellent
touch of being stylish and celebrity feel. The hourglass
silhouette is ranked seven because of its
unique design on the waist area. Most dresses are made using
that design and clients purchase
them because it does not select a specific type of body feature.
The ball-shaped is ranked last
since that type of cloth is only worn during ceremonial events.
It is an excellent type of silhouette
to be worn in an important ceremony but not during a daily life
activity. Therefore, it receives the
lowest rank since it takes time before attracting the needed
crowd.
Part Six
The chosen styles are selected on the basis that clothes are
worn frequently. an individual
should refrain from buying clothes that will be best suited for
only one occasion (Massot, 2020).
It is best to have a set of reliable silhouettes to ensure that they
can fit within the selected themes.
Additionally, understanding body features is an excellent
strategy since it will save the client
from unnecessary disappointments when looking for fashion
wear from their favorite brands.
They should base their selection according to what they like
instead of using imaginary cloth
fittings. All the brands have different sizes and cloth textures
where an individual can select the
required style.

The theme, Color, and textile story
Nike is a brand which is known for its vibrancy and how
colorful and stylish the shoes
from this brand are. For the theme the best theme for the
coming fall is passion. This is because of
the passion which the company puts into the manufacturing of
each of the pieces of shoes made
by the organization. The passion of the organization will help
ensure that it releases unique designs
in the coming fall; designs that are unique and have not been
explored before. Passion means a
strong and uncontrollable emotion and that should be what the
employees of the company should
exhibit in the production process.
Passion is a theme that describes the Nike customer and this is
because of the enthusiasm
and consistency which is shown by the customers; they have
shown support for Nike for many
years now and continue looking forward to every release. To
represent the theme the shoes will
need to be more colorful and vibrant. Passion being a theme
means that the details and all the
aspects of the shoes will be made with a lot of keenness to
ensure that the shoes can evoke the
right emotions from the buyers.
When it comes to colors the primary colors for Nike are
normally white and red where red
is a representation of passion. In the college is a set of six
colors that Nike should incorporate in
its shoes for fall 2022. The colors are bright yet cool and are
ideal for the shoes. To make the shoes
even more interesting Nike should combine the colors with
other colors such as white and black
and this will ensure that the shoes are not too bright but are still
very unique (Yao & Chen, 2019).
The organization needs to have different color combinations to
help provide the customers with a
variety to choose from.
2
Some of the other colors which the company should incorporate
in the theme are orange
and purple. Orange is a color that is normally associated with
sunshine and warmth which are some
of the aspects that the fall season is also associated with. The
color is also a representation of
enthusiasm and freedom; this is an indicator of the freedom
which Nike has in exploring different
color combinations and designs to come up with unique designs
(Childs & Jin, 2018). The color
purple is linked to royalty, mystery, and magic. The customers
should get a magical feeling when
they finally get to wear the shoes made during the season.
When it comes to fabrics Nike has always been known to go for
toughness, durability, and
comfort. The fabrics and materials that should be incorporated
in the manufacture of the shoes will
be rubber, polyester, leather, cotton, and other materials. These
materials should be sourced in a
manner that ensures the protection of the environment and
sustainability (Jiang, 2019). The rubber
material will be needed for the soles and this is because the
soles need to be durable and tough so
that the shoes can last for longer.
Polyester is a good fabric for the shoes and the best option
should be recycled polyester as
this is because through the use of the recycled polyester the
company also helps in the conservation
of the environment as well. Organic cotton is needed in the
manufacture of shoes and this is
because the company is sustainable. Cotton will help enhance
the comfort of the shoes. Leather is
good for the shoes as well and this is because it lasts longer
than most of the materials. Since the
company works with tanners and suppliers of leather it is easy
for them to get real leather to use
in the manufacture of these shoes.

My choice of company for the assignment is Nike Inc. which is
an American multinational
company that is involved in the process of design, development,
and manufacture of footwear that
is not only sold in America but many parts of the world. The
company has been able to develop
and grow its brand and now has visibility in most of the
countries. The company has been in place
over the last 57 years and many developments have been made
during these years.
The company was founded in the year 1964 when it was known
as Blue Ribbon Sports.
During that time the company was a sportswear company with
its headquarters in Beaverton,
Oregon. The company was founded by Bill Bowerman who was
a coach at the Oregon University.
He founded the company together with his former student
known as Phil Knight. The first retail
store for the company was launched in 1966 and Nike brand
shoe was later launched in the year
1972 (Moeller, 2018). The company grew so much in the 21st
century and by the end of the century
the company had its branches in 170 countries and its logo
which is a curved checkmark was
already known all over the world.
In the 1980s the company steadily expanded its operations
through a series of acquisitions
where it identified companies that had the potential of helping it
grow and make more revenue in
the market. In the 1990s the company suffered because of
allegations of poor working conditions
but later picked itself up. Part of the success that is seen in the
company is because of the
endorsements that the company and its shoes have gotten from
some of the big athletes in the
United States and all over the world.
Nike is currently doing well financially and this is because of
its marketing strategy which
involves developing products that are high quality and products
with which the customers can
connect emotionally. To ensure that it beats out the competition
in the industry the company has
involved itself in the buyout of some of the companies which
have so much potential in the industry
(Hoffman, 2019). The brand is loved so much because of the
consistency of the company to deliver
quality shoes to the customers and come up with new products
for the customers frequently. The
business has even more potential to grow to a better position
than it is in currently.
Target market
For the company to be successful it has focused its production
on a certain segment of the
market. The target market of the company is the people between
the ages of 15-45 and this is the
young age and includes the people who are more enthusiastic
about fashion. Nike targets this
segment because it knows that these people have a lot of
interest in fashion and want to have the
latest designs in the market which means that the company can
make huge sales with every of its
release.
The company is now moving into the digital space and e-
commerce through the
establishment of websites and this target market has access to
the internet. The people in the target
market are from both genders; male and female. The level of
income for the customers is moderate
and some of the young customers depend on their parents’
upkeep (Dupree, 2020). The company
targets people from all geographical locations and this is
because the company can make deliveries
worldwide and ship the shoes anywhere. Most of the people that
are targeted by the company are

FMM 410: Final Project Guidelines and Grading Guide
Overview
The final project for this course is the creation of a fashion
forecast presentation. The fashion forecast presentation will
summarize and highlight the best
information (chosen company, defined customer, and identified
styles or trends) distilled from the milestones submitted in
Modules Two through Six. The
PowerPoint presentation will be 10 to 12 slides and include
speaker notes. The final product represents an authentic
demonstration of competency because it
presents the student’s work in an original fashion forecast
presentation. The project is divided into six milestones, which
will be submitted at various points
throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality
final submissions. These milestones will be submitted in
Modules Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and
Seven.
Guidelines
Part I: Identify a Fashion Company and Target Customer
• Describe a brief history of the company chosen—manufacturer
or retailer.
• Summarize the demographics, psychographics, and lifestyle of
the target customer.
• Create a picture collage that shows the target customer’s
hobbies, foods enjoyed, car of choice, and leisure activities
(create this collage on your own or
with the use of Polyvore or Pinterest).
Part II: Create a Theme, Color, and Textile Story
• Define the theme, fusing visual and verbal elements together
that illustrate the mood or spirit of the fashion forecast
presentation.
• Describe the relevant information of the color and textile s tory
of the theme.
• Create another collage of six colors and four fabrics (use the
Design Options and Pantone websites for color options).
Part III: Define the Style and Silhouette Direction
• Describe the style and silhouette direction that correlate to the
theme chosen for the final project (use firstVIEW and Style.com
to review designer lines).
• Create three silhouettes to specify three looks in total (only
one can be a dress).
• Devise and assign a style number or a name for each silhouette
(only give numbers or names to clothing).
Part IV: Summarize Additional Research
• Select one group from the Nielsen PRIZM Lifestage Groups
and describe their lifestyle, demographic, and consumer
behavior information.
• Analyze two competitors, highlighting the strengths and
weaknesses of each competing company against the chosen
company.

• Identify the price structure, appearance, selection, and quality
of the competing products.
Part V: Forecast the Bestsellers
• Assess the popularity of the styles from the style and
silhouette milestone paper by ranking the styles in numerical
order from 1 to 10, with 1 being the
best style.
• Defend the placement of each style in its rank with research.
Part VI: Final Fashion Forecast Presentation
• Describe all aspects of the chosen styles or trends so well that
a reader can easily recognize them and immediately know how
they function.
• Create a PowerPoint presentation that is graphically and
visually appealing, constituting a wonderful combination of
images and words.
• Compose speaker notes steeped in fashion-industry jargon,
tone, and verbiage.

  • 1. ! 1 There are various styles of Nike shoes that will be ideal for the season and the shoes can be ranked from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best style. The first style which I would rank at number 1 is the Nike Airforce 1 shoes and this is because despite the shoes being released many years ago, the shoes are still very popular among the youth and other ages. The shoes are ideal and come in different colors and there is an option for an all-white Airforce 1 (Trembath, 2020). I rank the shoes at number 1 because of their classy look and the pricing of the shoes; the shoes cost less than $100 and considering the design and style that is a good value for money item. Coming in number 2 another style for the Nike shoes for the season will be the Nike Air Max 90 shoes and this is because of the various features which are guaranteed when one buys the shoes. One of the shoes that will be very ideal is the comfort
  • 2. that comes with wearing the shoes. The shoes are still very popular and are breathable which means that one does not have their feet heated all day from wearing the shoes. The shoes have Air Max padding which helps provide cushion and support for the person wearing the shoes (Trembath, 2020). The shoes are not only comfortable but also good looking and brighter colors would be very ideal for the season. The upper part of the shoe is made up of quality textile and leather and this makes the shoes last longer. Another style of Nike shoes which I would rank at number 5 is the Nike Air Max 95 shoes and this is because of how unique the shoe is; it has a lacing system that gives one a locked-in feel and the shoes have a mid-foam sole that offers additional comfort to the foot while still retaining the stylishness of Nike shoes. ! 2 At number 4 the style of the Nike shoes is the Nike blazer shoes which have a wide
  • 3. range of good features. The shoes have roots that are connected to basketball but the shoe has been turned into an everyday shoe because of its simplicity and comfort. The shoes are high on top and have a state-of-the-art design which makes them ideal for the season. The shoe is a mix of style and vintage and when looking at the shoes they look like they came straight out of the 1970s. The Nike Air Jordan low SE shoes are very good and stylish and I rank the shoes at number 5. The shoes are available in low, mid, and top silhouettes and thus making them even better. Customers will not only be able to select from the beautiful colors in which the shoes come in but also the design of the shoes. The shoes have been in place for a very long time and constantly new colors are launched which help give the shoes a new feel. The shoes have a hidden air sole unit and leather overlays that provide more style to the shoes. Nike Cortez shoes will rank at number 6 from the selected styles and silhouettes. The
  • 4. shoe began as a running silhouette but due to the color, style, and design of the shoes, people started wearing the shoes more on regular occasions. The shoes are classy because of the use of premium leather on the upper part of these shoes. The shoes also have rubber soles and hence have comfort and durability. The shoes have a minimalistic design that will be ideal for a casual look during the season. The shoes can be blended with various outfits and give a very cool and attractive casual look. ! 3 The Nike Air Huarache remains one of the most popular Nike designs and this is because of the look that the shoes have. I rank the shoes at number 7. The shoes come in more vibrant colors and hence will portray the theme for the season. The shoes have a unique feature that makes the shoes stand out and that is the lining of the shoes. The lining of the shoes is designed to take up the shape of the sole of the person wearing the shoes and hence acts as an exoskeleton
  • 5. for the wearer. Nike has always been a brand associated with athletes and the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 8 Shoes are ideal for runners because of their design. The shoes are lightweight which means that the runners will not get exhausted from the weight of the shoes and that will make them run more swiftly (Guiness et al., 2020). The bottom of the shoe has been designed to deal with the rough terrain of the land when running. The ninth shoe will be the Nike Space Hippie 04 Shoes which are representative of the look that the Nike shoes will have in the future. The shoes are good because of their use of recycling where 25% of the shoes are made up from recycling plastics and other products making the Nike brand a global sustainable brand. With their super-cushioned soles, the shoes can be said to be one of the most comfortable shoes and hence they are also ideal for women. Nike Air Zoom Pulse Shoes rank number ten in the styles and when it comes to the health of the person wearing the shoes, these shoes have been ranked as the most comfortable shoes by

  • 7. Reynolds Vision Statement “We are committed to achieving our goal of being a market leader for engineering solutions and will investment in technical innovation. Our desire is to continue to expand our markets, our technical competence, and our intellectual curiosity to serve our customers.” Additional Information Reynolds Tool & Die is an automotive component manufacturer supplying suspension pieces and technology to both other suppliers and major U.S. and foreign manufacturers. Annual revenue is around $50 million, and the company is profitable. Reynolds has production facilities at their headquarters in Akron, OH; in Bloomington, IN; and in Memphis, TN. Approximately 300 people work for Reynolds, including 7 in IT. The IT staff is broken down as follows: · IT Director · 2 Help Desk personnel · 3 Network Engineers · 1 Software Engineer, primarily supporting the company’s ERP system One network engineer works in Bloomington, one in Memphis, and the rest of the IT staff is located in Akron. The three sites are networked via an MPLS circuit. In addition to SAP® software, the company uses Microsoft® Office 2010 for administrative work along with several specialized CAD programs for design. The SAP software is two versions behind, but not at end of its life. A data center is in Akron, while the other two sites have smaller hardware footprints consisting of Microsoft Exchange servers for email, a small file and print server, and redundant Active Directory servers. EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) devices are at each site. Redundant backup appliances are in Akron and Bloomington, and data can be cycled among the SANS for further redundancy. While some server virtualization has been achieved, only about 20 percent

Servers, desktops, laptops and printers are all HP®, and are between 3 and 5 years old and the desktops and Laptops use Windows® 7 as the operating system. All servers are on Microsoft Server 2012. There are no cloud applications. There has been a demand by administrative personnel and engineers for integrating mobile devices with Microsoft Exchange and other apps but to date the company has not implemented a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) or a MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution. The IT budget typically is between $1.2 and $1.5 million annually, depending on capital expense. Note that this budget ONLY covers hardware, software, services, and licensing. Personnel costs are not included, nor do you need to include them for the Week 4 budget assignment. This year the company is embarking on significant expansion. A joint venture has been signed with a firm from Mexico Peraltada LLC in order to gain access to a new supplier market. Both companies will remain independent, but Reynolds will exchange engineering expertise for a percentage of sales in Mexico and there will be joint development of intellectual property. Peraltada uses Microsoft Office 2016 and Oracle as their ERP solution. Desktop and laptops are HP, and they are running Microsoft Server 2016. They employ around 200 people with 5 in IT. The company provides key employees with iPhones for mobile access to their network. In an effort to diversify, the company has purchased a small company in Vancouver, Canada that makes light aircraft landing gear components. P.T. Tracy, LLC employs about 80 people, with 3 in IT. They also use SAP for an ERP solution but one version newer than Reynolds. They use Microsoft Office 2013 and Windows 10 for their desktop OS. Their firewall solution is Palo Alto and they use Cisco routing and switching equipment. Servers, desktops and laptops are all Dell®. CMGT/578 v12 Long-range IT Plan Focusing on Innovation CMGT/578 v11 Page 2 of 2Long-range IT Plan Focusing on Innovation For this assignment, you’re a senior IT manager at Reynolds Tool & Die. You have been asked to write a 3-page plan detailing how you will create a culture of innovation in IT operations and integrate IT innovation into long-range strategic planning. Your proposal should include recommendations for specific technology innovations, and explain how you expect these innovations to drive business success over time. This assignment requires you to analyze the company’s goals; analyze how IT innovation can contribute to those goals and how the current environment might be able to support innovation. After you have completed your analyses, you will synthesize all of this information into a long-range IT plan focusing on innovation. Specifically, your plan needs to address two things: 1. What IS innovations can you propose that align with the strategic long-range plans of both IT and the organization? 2. How can you create a culture of innovation within your IT organization? Headings should be as follows:
  • 10. I. Long-range, Innovative Solution s Planning Consider this a wish list. What innovative technologies will you propose to help Reynolds accomplish its long-range goals? For example, does artificial intelligence have a place in the organization? Big Data? What about next generation cloud technologies? How will mobility (related to mobile devices) fit into your planning? II. Creating a Culture of Innovation in the IT Organization In order to implement creative solutions, you need an innovative team. Going forward, you’ll want to hire the right people and train them the right way. You already have staff who have been doing things a specific way, and you need to create a culture of innovation throughout the organization. How will you do that? Some areas to address are: i. IT Staffing and Training Does your current staff have the right skill sets? What skill sets
  • 11. will they need to add in order to be innovative? What are the potential budget considerations for ongoing training? ii. R&D Can you make the case for research and development (R&D) within Reynolds’ IT organization? R&D isn’t synonymous with product development; it’s a function tasked with pursuing forward-thinking, innovative strategies, even strategies that the business doesn’t expect to pay off in the short term but hopes will pay off eventually in the long term. • 14. ! 2 Competitors Adidas Adidas is a shoe-selling company that competes directly with Nike. Looking at the brand value of the company it ranks at 3 with Nike being in the top position. The rank of the brand value is due to the consistency of the company to produce quality products year after year. Adidas dedicates most of its efforts to the advertisement and growing its brand which means with consistency the brand could easily catch up with Nike. The company has a more diversified portfolio when compared to Nike. It offers many products whi ch are designed for different customer groups and a wide range of sports. The company also
  • 15. has a more effective supply chain when compared to Nike and also has a very effective marketing strategy (Muhamad, 2021). However, in terms of profitability and market share, Nike controls a bigger share when compared to Adidas. Adidas has also been linked to forced labor and racism impacted the brand image of the company. Puma When Nike is compared to Puma some differences could be noted and one of them is profitability. Nike has more revenues when compared to Puma. It makes around $18 billion annually compared to the $4 billion which is made by Puma (Andal et al., 2020). The pricing of Puma is better compared to the pricing of Nike. Nike has been

Nike comes up with more unique designs and ! 3 styles when compared to Puma. When it comes to the market position, Nike ranks top of Puma as well and this is because Nike has been able to gain control over markets in different regions. Adidas emphasizes quality over quantity and even goes a step further to talk to athletes about their preferences before implementing most product designs. Nike, however, has an upper hand when it comes to innovativeness and design which makes its shoes have a better appearance compared to that of Adidas (Elena & Egor, 2018). It is these appearance features that drive the sales of the company high. When looking at the selection both companies offer a wide range of products. • 20. 1 Fashion Brand Part One The company selected is Louis Vuitton which has gained popularity among the populace globally. It is among the famous fashion brands which are trusted for its high-quality products thus attracting most clients (Massot, 2020). It was developed in early 1854 after the creator needed to introduce a new technique into the fashion system. The primary objective for the fashion brand is designing fashion light fashion wear that would fit all the clients according to their tastes and preferences. It has attracted both l ocal and international clientele population thus
  • 21. maintaining to have high-profit returns. They target high-end customers because the products are pretty expensive due to their high-quality level. One major characteristic of the target client is that they must be deep into the fashion wear company. Louis Vuitton designs clothes and accessories specifically for red carpet events and significant occasions (Massot, 2020). Most are located in the wealthy economic group thus facilitating massive purchases of the commodities. The organization targets those clients will flashy lifestyles that care about wearing brands with globally-recognized labels. The target population is wealthy thus depends on the fashion wear for cloth designs that depict their societal status.
  • 22. Demographics expound on an individual’s character especially their education level. For instance, the targets customers are educated and have enough information regarding general fashion thus are on the lookout for the brands (Massot, 2020). Louis Vuitton has no gender specifics because both women and men are targeted to purchase the commodities. The brand has manufactured commodities both for the young and old thus has no age limits. The primary 2 objective is to address as many clients ensuring that they have received products according to their tastes and preferences. Part Two
  • 23. The selected theme is date night styling where couples should wear matching outfits for the special night out. The theme is selected because a date night needs people to match their personalities and the best expression is through fashion wear (Massot, 2020). The theme should have vibrant colors that have significant meanings according to the people on set. Louis Vuitton brand has a fashion section that has been dedicated to couples on date night. Moreover, the theme has been selected since it would be outstanding and unique touch. The primary objective is ensuring that one finds an attractive branded outfit that would match their tastes and preferences. Both parties in the theme are after creating an impression and leaving a mark.
  • 24. Fashion forecast presentation means allocating some ideas that would work according to the presented themes. The client needs to be comfortable in the theme outfits ensuring that they have matched their personality (Massot, 2020). The theme could be formal or casual depending on the client’s purpose for the date. Therefore, they should be dressed to match that occasion and the colors must accompany the theme for style and personality reflection. For instance, one speculation for a date night theme outfit is a pair of branded jeans and a brightly colored tank top and some heels. That would make a perfect theme for both formal and casual date nights. One of the prominent colors worn during the date night themes is black. It is a direct indicator of elegance and creates a composed environment. It
  • 25. fits both casual and formal date nights thus will draw minimal attention from the outside crowd (Massot, 2020). It can be accompanied by a few accessories ensuring a completely elegant outfit. Read is another unique 3 color that can be used on the theme. It sends an extremely strong message especially about Cotton being the best textile texture for date-themed outfits. ! Part Three Style and silhouette expound on how a themed cloth fits an individual’s body and how it draws on their skin according to their liking. When designing
  • 26. the date night outfit, the creator has the client’s body shape in mind and speculates how it will exactly fit and adorn the features. The major challenge encountered when developing the silhouette for the date night theme is aligning it with a media celebrity (Massot, 2020). However, the client should be comfortable enough to have silhouettes developed from their body features facilitating their comfortability in the 4 designer clothing. Therefore, client preferences should be sorted to outline the perfect type of silhouette for their body. The first silhouette creation is a body-fitting cloth throughout the body. It is specifically
  • 27. used in designing trousers fitting trousers and needs an individual with a small waist lining for a perfect appearance. The second silhouette creation is copied from the hourglass and has been developed specifically for a thin waist person. Most wedding dresses are developed from that unique idea. Another silhouette designed is a ball-like skirt that has been fitted with many underlying nets to form around and buffer shape. Such skirts have been traditionally used for an extended period. Part IV The selected group is the upper crust individual who is wealthy and has no children. They have a consistent buying behavior and are well informed about fashion. Two competitors are
  • 28. Nike and Addis’s fashion wear (Massot, 2020). The major strength is that they are not made for a specific population are given to someone else. The quality products have been developed by duplicating the main appearance. It has a cheaper price since it has a minimal quality that is required to live through. Part V 8- body fitting silhouette 7- hourglass silhouette 5- ball-shaped silhouette My placement criteria on a scale of one to ten depended on how fast the outfit was purchased from the market. Most of the trousers developed using body- fitting silhouettes have gained more
  • 29. 5 clients since most of them want clothes that will properly reflect their features. It can be worn in the selected theme and also on other occasions (Massot, 2020). It gives a client an excellent touch of being stylish and celebrity feel. The hourglass silhouette is ranked seven because of its unique design on the waist area. Most dresses are made using that design and clients purchase them because it does not select a specific type of body feature. The ball-shaped is ranked last since that type of cloth is only worn during ceremonial events. It is an excellent type of silhouette to be worn in an important ceremony but not during a daily life activity. Therefore, it receives the
  • 30. lowest rank since it takes time before attracting the needed crowd. Part Six The chosen styles are selected on the basis that clothes are worn frequently. an individual should refrain from buying clothes that will be best suited for only one occasion (Massot, 2020). It is best to have a set of reliable silhouettes to ensure that they can fit within the selected themes. Additionally, understanding body features is an excellent strategy since it will save the client from unnecessary disappointments when looking for fashion wear from their favorite brands. They should base their selection according to what they like instead of using imaginary cloth fittings. All the brands have different sizes and cloth textures

  • 32. The theme, Color, and textile story Nike is a brand which is known for its vibrancy and how colorful and stylish the shoes from this brand are. For the theme the best theme for the coming fall is passion. This is because of the passion which the company puts into the manufacturing of each of the pieces of shoes made by the organization. The passion of the organization will help ensure that it releases unique designs in the coming fall; designs that are unique and have not been explored before. Passion means a strong and uncontrollable emotion and that should be what the employees of the company should exhibit in the production process. Passion is a theme that describes the Nike customer and this is because of the enthusiasm
  • 33. and consistency which is shown by the customers; they have shown support for Nike for many years now and continue looking forward to every release. To represent the theme the shoes will need to be more colorful and vibrant. Passion being a theme means that the details and all the aspects of the shoes will be made with a lot of keenness to ensure that the shoes can evoke the right emotions from the buyers. When it comes to colors the primary colors for Nike are normally white and red where red is a representation of passion. In the college is a set of six colors that Nike should incorporate in its shoes for fall 2022. The colors are bright yet cool and are ideal for the shoes. To make the shoes even more interesting Nike should combine the colors with
  • 34. other colors such as white and black and this will ensure that the shoes are not too bright but are still very unique (Yao & Chen, 2019). The organization needs to have different color combinations to help provide the customers with a variety to choose from. 2 Some of the other colors which the company should incorporate in the theme are orange and purple. Orange is a color that is normally associated with sunshine and warmth which are some of the aspects that the fall season is also associated with. The color is also a representation of
  • 35. enthusiasm and freedom; this is an indicator of the freedom which Nike has in exploring different color combinations and designs to come up with unique designs (Childs & Jin, 2018). The color purple is linked to royalty, mystery, and magic. The customers should get a magical feeling when they finally get to wear the shoes made during the season. When it comes to fabrics Nike has always been known to go for toughness, durability, and comfort. The fabrics and materials that should be incorporated in the manufacture of the shoes will be rubber, polyester, leather, cotton, and other materials. These materials should be sourced in a manner that ensures the protection of the environment and sustainability (Jiang, 2019). The rubber material will be needed for the soles and this is because the
  • 36. soles need to be durable and tough so that the shoes can last for longer. Polyester is a good fabric for the shoes and the best option should be recycled polyester as this is because through the use of the recycled polyester the company also helps in the conservation of the environment as well. Organic cotton is needed in the manufacture of shoes and this is because the company is sustainable. Cotton will help enhance the comfort of the shoes. Leather is good for the shoes as well and this is because it lasts longer than most of the materials. Since the company works with tanners and suppliers of leather it is easy for them to get real leather to use in the manufacture of these shoes.

The brand is loved so much because of the consistency of the company to deliver

Target market For the company to be successful it has focused its production on a certain segment of the market. The target market of the company is the people between the ages of 15-45 and this is the young age and includes the people who are more enthusiastic about fashion. Nike targets this segment because it knows that these people have a lot of interest in fashion and want to have the latest designs in the market which means that the company can make huge sales with every of its release.
  • 43. The company is now moving into the digital space and e- commerce through the establishment of websites and this target market has access to the internet. The people in the target market are from both genders; male and female. The level of income for the customers is moderate and some of the young customers depend on their parents’ upkeep (Dupree, 2020). The company targets people from all geographical locations and this is because the company can make deliveries worldwide and ship the shoes anywhere. Most of the people that are targeted by the company are people who love to spend and have fun.
