4. NEW COVENANT JEREMIAH 31:31-34
• The New Covenant is made first with the nation of Israel and
extended to all mankind.
God promises to forgive sin, and there will be a universal
knowledge of the Lord.
Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law of Moses and create a new
covenant between God and His people.
Now that we are under the New Covenant, both Jews and
Gentiles can be free from the penalty of the Law.
We are now given the opportunity to receive salvation as a free
gift
5. • The new covenant ushered in the new creation.
• While Moses was the mediator of the old covenant between
God and the nation of Israel, Christ is the mediator of the new
covenant between God and believers through his finished work
of redemption in his life, death, and resurrection.
• While the old covenant required national obedience, the new
covenant requires faith in Christ, the perfectly obedient Son of
Israel.
7. JEREMIAH 31:31-32 (NKJV)
• A New Covenant
• 31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make
a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of
Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out
of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, [a]though I
was a husband to them, says the LORD.
8. JEREMIAH 31:33-34 (NKJV)
• 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their
minds, and write it on their [b]hearts; and I will be their God, and
they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his
neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’
for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest
of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their
sin I will remember no more.”
12. NUMBER 1
• Unconditional covenant between God and Israel.
• It’s not only with Judah or Israel, but with the entire nation of
Israel. Notice the covenant its not made with the church.

a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of
Judah.
13. NUMBER 2
• It’s a distinct covenant from the Mosaic.
This one is made to replace the Mosaic covenant that was
considered broken.

• 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in
the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the
land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, [a]though I was a
husband to them, says the LORD.
14. NUMBER 3
• Promise of salvation for Israel.
• Jeremiah 31:33 (NKJV)
• 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it
on their [a]hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
• Isaiah 59:21 (NKJV)
• 21 “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit
who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall
not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your
descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,”
says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”
15. NUMBER 4
• Every Jewish person shall be save and their generations.
• Jeremiah 31:34 (NKJV)
• 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man
his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me,
from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD.
• Isaiah 61:9 (NKJV)
• 9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles,
And their offspring among the people.
All who see them shall acknowledge them,
That they are the posterity whom the LORD has blessed.”
16. NUMBER 5
• Forgiveness of sin.
• The New Covenant does what the Mosaic covenant (law) could
not do it.
• Mosaic Covenant, covered the sins of Israel.
• New Covenant remove the sins of Israel.
• Jeremiah 31:34b (NKJV)
• 34 … For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember
no more.”
17. NUMBER 6
• Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
In tis way, Israel will be able to do the righteous works of God.
• Jeremiah 31:33 (NKJV)
• 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds,
and write it on their [a]hearts; and I will be their God, and they
shall be My people.
• Ezekiel 36:27 (NKJV)
• 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My
statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
18. NUMBER 7
• Material blessings will be showered over Israel
• The Mosaic covenant provided blessings for obedience, but
Israel was in disobedience. However, in the New Covenant there
will be no disobedience.

• 41 Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I
will [a]assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with
all My soul.’
19. NUMBER 8
• The Sanctuary or temple to be rebuilt.
• The Mosaic Covenant provided the Tabernacle.
• The Davidic Covenant provided the First Temple, by Solomon.
• The new covenant will provide the Messianic or Millennial Temple.
20. EZEKIEL 37:26-28 (NKJV)
• 26 Moreover I will [a]make a covenant of peace with them, and it
shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them
and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst
forevermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I
will be their God, and they shall be My people. 28 The nations
also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary
is in their midst forevermore.”
21. NUMBER 9
• This covenant has The Law of Messiah (Rom 8:2; Gal 6:2)
• This law was given by Jesus while on earth, or later by the apostles.
Examples:
• Nine of the ten commandments are in the law of Messiah.
• Others are extended “Love your neighbor as yourself” into “love one
another as I have love you”. Messiah will be now the standard of love.
• No Sabbath observation, no restrictions on eating.
• In the Mosaic Covenant: You do, then you are blessed.
• In the New Covenant: You are blessed, now you do.
• If you steal, you don’t break the Law of Moses, but the Law of Messiah.
23. • It amplifies the blessing of the Abrahamic Covenant.
• Salvation for Israel.
• The spiritual blessing of the Jewish covenants, now extended to
the Gentiles.

• Christ Our Peace
