rock,
some parts have 1 – 2 m thick soil
layer.

system is not disturbed due
this developments,
Soil Erosion – Removed soil will be stock at the
top and compacted to minimize
10. 1.There is no any recognize natural habitat
existing in the area.

13. According to this we have obtained following
licence and approvals for existing industries.
1. Metal Quarry
Mining licence IML – B (Geological Survey & Mines Bureau)
Environmental Protection Licence (Central Environmental Authority)
Explosive Permit (Explosive Controller – Kurunegala)
Trading licence (Pradeshiya Saba – Mawathagama)
2.Crushing Plant
Environmental Protection Licence (Central Environmental Authority)
Trading licence (Pradeshiya Saba – Mawathagama),
3.Asphalt Plant
Environmental Protection Licence (Central Environmental Authority)
14. In addition to the above mention licence and
permits, we have obtained guide lines and
recommendations from following authorities.
1. Archeological Department
There is no archeological significance in the area.
16. Front area is Coconut plantation and Undeveloped
private land.
Closest residential house in this direction is about 450 m
away.
17. When considering the Quarry
Nearest residence house is about 450 m
away from the quarry face, this house is
situated at back side of the quarry face,
Closest house at the direction of blasting
is about 1 km m to blasting face.
Hence the damage due to fly rocks are
minimum.
18. 1. Rock Propels (fly rocks)
• Most of rock propels (Fly rocks) are
occurred in front to the blast face,
• It will be reduced when the bench is going
down from the rock surface.
• However fly rocks it can be kept within the
short distance by
1. reducing the drilling deviation
2. using accurate initiation pattern
3. with correctly determined quantities of
explosives per hole in concern.
19. 2. Ground Vibration
Ground vibration is a factor of the
1. explosive quantity,
2. geological factors of rock and
3. the distance to the place.
When considering the distance to the
closest house minimum ground
vibration expected.
20. 3. Air Blast Over Pressure (ABOP)
The main factors of ABOP are
1. explosive quantity and distance from blast,
2. Face height and orientation,
3. Several other factors
