Organ donation is the process of removing an organ or
tissue from one person (the donor) and placing it into
another person (the recipient).
The need for organ donors is great. According to the united
network for organ sharing, there are currently over 400,000
people waiting for organ transplants in the India alone.
Unfortunately, there are not enough donors to meet this
demand, which means that many people die each year while
waiting for a transplant.

4. TYPES OF ORGAN DONATION
There are two types of organ donation:
1. Deceased donation.
2. Living donation.
• Deceased donation occurs when someone has
passed away and their organs are donated to
someone in need.
• Living donation occurs when someone donates
an organ while they are still alive.
• Deceased donation is the most common type of
organ donation. It can involve donating multiple
organs, such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys,
pancreas, and intestines.
