OVERVIEW
The Ayung Resort is a breathtaking mystical and unique life-style hotel, perched high top the banks of a
mostly untouched tropical mountain rain- forest gorge. Embraced within the traditional Balinese village
of Payangan Ubud, Ayung Resort surrounds each guest with spiritual tranquility and the gentle pace of
Balinese life.
Along the serene 8-hectares rain-forest domain runs the Ayung, Bali’s most sacred mountain river.
Carved throughout the rocks in the hotel’s pathways along its 600-metres long riverbank fronting the
Ayung Resort, 250 of the finest Balinese Stone Carvers painstakingly worked, for over a 2 year period, to
craft the spectacular Hindu mythologies, Ramayana and Mahabharata, amongst others. These stone
carvings become the most sought after photo opportunities at the hotel.
Ayung Resort is 45 kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport, 40 kilometers from Kuta Beach and
8 kilometers from Ubud Centre.
ROOM CATEGORIES
The two mythologies of the Javanese theater and dance are the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. They
are moral tales, full of instructions and examples on how to “Lead the Good Life”. They praise the
righteousness, wisdom and perseverance of the noble “Satriya” or “Warrior Class” and stress its
faithfulness, integrity and fraternal devotion. In the Ramayana, the main characters are Rama, his wife
Sita , and his brother Laksmana. You will find that the story lines of both these Hindu mythologies are
intertwined throughout the Ayung Resort.

Wijaya Kusuma Fine Dining
