S.W.O.T Analysis
The S.W.O.T Analysis is to help companies to ensure what areas are needed for
improvements of the company rather is weakens or strengthens the company. Many companies
are “failing due to other companies and the competition that the other companies have, and there
are many companies that don’t have the opportunity to have the financial gain like other
companies have” (Robbins & Coulter, 2014). However; that where the S.W.O.T Analysis comes
into play to help with various areas of the company and that person over the company would
eventually would know if they are going to succeed or not succeed at all. Therefore; there have
been research with the development of the S.W.O.T Analysis to see if the company can handle
the competition of its competitors and the can that company remain strong in the future.
Strengths of McDonald’s
McDonald’s is a fast food restaurant that made its history with hamburgers being one of
the top leading fast food restaurants in the world. Since “1955 people have liked their food the
best and along the way they managed not to just live history but created a drive-thru for the
advantage of people that were not able to get out their vehicles” (McDonald's, 2014). The first
“drive-thru was created in 1975 near an Arizona military base, the reason was that military
soldiers were not permitted of getting out their vehicles wearing fatigues” (McDonald's, 2014).
Therefore; the McDonald’s cooperation see how successful and faster that drive-thru was for
customers and decided to created more drive-thru throughout the United States and also
internationally. McDonald’s also have creativity of their ability to create a menu that a whole
family can enjoy and that satisfies customers that brings the same customers backs and new
customers. This fast food mania has a record to be beat in the industry they have procedures that

they also must followed and the means “Fast, Friendly, Accurate” to be able to bring the
customers back and more coming.
Opportunity of McDonald’s
The opportunity of McDonald’s was for them to be able “to share that they values are
clear for business and society, and to address issues of global environmental strategies by
reducing the system and helping the business by creating value for the shareholders”
(McDonald's, 2014). McDonald’s also have “stewardship that means the corporation is able to
move around the world and create leverage and other approaches to be able to create innovation
to make a positive difference” (McDonald's, 2014). That means the company may participate
with other people ideals and make strategies to sustain the environment. McDonald’s have had
the opportunity to create “inclusion and diversity is by helping the employees reached their full
potential and that leaders hold themselves accountable about learning about value, respect, and
team work” (McDonald's, 2014). That means that employees are all from different cultures and
have different values and are able to engage and work together while sharing their values.
McDonald’s have created ways by “establishing and maintaining relationships, to build brand
trust in diverse communities and increase their presence with diverse population” (McDonald's,
2014). Therefore; “they have strived to enhance quality, coaching, leadership mentoring, and
relevant education for business” (McDonald's, 2014).
Weakness of McDonalds
McDonald’s is a great company to work for and to gain experience their weakness can be
when they have employees that are unable to follow procedure of the company. Such as when
they have inspection called F.O.R , my understanding the F.O.R is to ensure that company it

following the rules and the regulation, people from the corporate office goes to the franchise
companies and scope and inspect the property, watched the employees work, and walks around
the restaurant to ensure that building alone is in good standards. When the guidelines and
procedures are not followed correctively the restaurant can be such down if they are unable to
pass the inspection from corporate. I Madalyn Murray is an employee of McDonald’s and have
been for eight years, I have made sure that the McDonald’s that I have worked for pass and met
the guidelines by following proper procedures. That means I was given manager duties even
though I was not a manager, the discretion was given to me from the higher up, and if the
mission was failed upon inspection then there were consequences.
Threat of McDonald’s
While McDonald’s is still one of the leading companies in fast food chamber others are
arriving in the competition in which Chick-fil-A, which has been successful during the recession.
While McDonald’s “outsells every other restaurant in the U.S. with $36 billion in sells last year ,
triple Subway and Starbucks and could actually add sells over the next decade” (DiStefano,
2014). Chick-fil-A had “sells 26% of sells 1 in 4 of the chicken chain market, despite the count
of just 2,000 stores, half KFCs total” (DiStefano, 2014). This means that eventually the
“Christian family owned restaurant would beat McDonald out, when it comes to selling chicken”
(DiStefano, 2014). In addition; McDonald’s “worries are recent skid in sales since the recession
ended, Kalinowski, expects McDonald’s sales will actually fall in June 2013” (DiStefano, 2014).
Therefore; McDonalds “franchise finds sells more down on the chain in 63 previous surveys.
With a median rating of less than 2 on scale of 1 to 5” (DiStefano, 2014).
