Lucinda MacPherson has been a part-time Corporate Communications Manager at
English Heritage from September 2008 to the end of January 2010. She was employed
initially on a six-month contract to cover a maternity leave, then had her contract
extended twice.
Her considerable experience and expertise in PR and journalism has been a great asset
to the Corporate Communications team, both in her proactive and reactive media
work.
Lucinda's proactive work for us has included a national launch of war memorial
grants and the opening of an Elizabethan garden at Kenilworth, both of which resulted
in extensive media coverage.
She was a key player in English Heritage's biggest national event this year - the
launch of Heritage Open Days, which attracted the most coverage ever in its l5-year
history.
Lucinda also demonstrated her crisis management skills and ability to tum negative
media messages to positive in a damage limitation exercise with a TV documentary
film crew, for which senior management commended her.
Lucinda is a highly creative, industrious, positive and committed professional, and
I would not hesitate to recommend her for future media relations work.
