From humble beginnings, passionate drive and multiple hardships, Pedra kept going
forward.
When told that People like Her don’t belong in the Executive Wall Street Office where Math
and Science are an Art… Pedra prayed for guidance and kept going forward.
She had many adventures that shaped her quick wit. Some too incredible to be true.
Whenever I doubted myself, Pedra encouraged me to keep going forward.
I see Her Passion in these amazing Students, Staff and Faculty at TCMC.
This is not a compliment. It is Truth.
You may doubt your Art. Your story to some is too incredible to be true.

Footnote: Pedra fought a rare blood disorder, thrombocytopenia purpura. Adult chronic
immune thrombocytopenic purpura is an autoimmune disorder in which patients produce
antiplatelet autoantibodies and specialized white blood cells that destroy their blood
platelets and, in some cases, damage their megakaryocytes, causing a decrease in platelet
production. Pedra’s demeanor would be hostile when TTP would “visit”. She was on
Prednisone for 10 years. This made her unhappy due to the side effects of weight gain,
round face, and a buffalo-like hump on her back. She succumbed to TTP on Saint Patrick’s
Day 2011.
