Asia Film Institute Announces Partnership with UNAOC PLURAL+
New York, June 30, 2016 – Asia Film Institute today announced to be one of the partners of PLURAL+
Youth Media Festival organized by United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC).
PLURAL+ is a youth-produced video festival which encourages young people to explore migration,
diversity and social inclusion, and to share their creative vision with the world. It recognizes youth as
powerful agents of social change, and supports cooperative efforts to reduce tensions in a world often
characterized by conflict and division. PLURAL+ aims to support dialogue between young people from
different cultures, and in the process, increase awareness and respect for diversity. Selected by
internationally renowned filmmakers and migration experts from five continents, three Jury winners will
be invited to PLURAL+ 2016 Festival and Awards Ceremony in New York on October 27th
.
As the partner, Asia Film Institute will present AsiaFI awards to selected PLURAL+ videos that address
key challenges and opportunities in Asia regarding the issues of social inclusion and cohesion, migrant
integration, respect for identity, diversity and human rights.
