2. Social Media and
bullying
Today’s technology of the
internet has led to a terrifying
rate of Cyber Bullying.
Currently Cyber Bullying is still
legal in most but not all cases
and has led to countless
suicides. If not made completely
illegal then the rate of suicide
will climb. There are substantial
claims of statistics, links and
facts of Cyberbullying and
suicide that need to be
addressed.
3. Bullying and the
Internet
Cyber bullying has become very
prevalent in today’s society of
the internet and hateful social
media. When taken too far it
can lead its victim to suicide
and personal suffering. And
what’s worse is when it creeps
from online into real life
homicide. This is when the
bully starts taking actions
offline and into your real life.
4. Statistics
Bullying statistics for 2010 to
now currently show that one in
seven kids in grades K-12 is
either that of a bully or a victim
of some sort of bullying, mainly
today is Cyber bullying because
it can be anonymous .
5. Facebook Safety
What should be the best times
of your life is turned into
wanting to commit suicide. It
should not be this way but the
vulnerability of social media has
made it easy to target people.
And when online and not in the
classroom it makes it that more
difficult for teachers to detect.
6. How I can help with
Cyber Bullying
From reading many countless
stories online of personal
struggles with Cyber bullying, I
thought there is a way I could
one day help put an end to it. I
am attending ITT Technical
Institute for IT, IS and Cyber
Security. Helping Cyber
bullying is just one of the many
careers I could strive for when I
graduate with my Bachelors.
7. These statistics and rates need
to be of concern to decrease the
amount of teen suicides. If there
were more laws passed a bully
might think twice before
harassing another out of spite or
jealousy.
8. Today’s online world of social
media makes it easy and more
vulnerable for a bully to attack
its prey or victim. These laws
are not taking away from
freedom of speech if there is
harm done and an act of
violence.
9. I think with more social media
monitoring there will in fact be
less teenage suicide. And
parents can worry less about
their children being in harm’s
way of malicious and hateful
social media. Parents have
enough to be stressed and
worried about. So if there was a
more proactive approach with
monitoring bullying, parents
could be more at ease.
