February 16, 2015 – Trajan Carney, Steve Elkins and Leslie Curry are pleased to announce the formation of the law
firm Carney|Elkins|Curry, PLC in Nashville, Tennessee. Carney|Elkins|Curry will provide client-centered, results-
oriented legal representation to a wide variety of both individual and business clients. The firm will engage in a general
civil litigation and appellate practice, with a primary focus on construction law, general business litigation,
administrative and regulatory law, and labor and employment law. In addition, the firm will offer a variety of estate
planning and probate services.
The three members of Carney|Elkins|Curry bring years of diverse experience in law, business and government to their
new firm. Trajan Carney has over fourteen years of experience litigating in state and federal courts, with a primary
focus in construction law, labor and employment law, and general business litigation. Carney is also a Tennessee
Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator. Steve Elkins brings to the firm an extensive knowledge and
understanding of state government, earned through his eight years of service in state government, including almost
four years as Legal Counsel to Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen. Elkins also brings first hand business experience
to the firm, having most recently been a minority owner of home care agency Aid & Assist At Home, where he served
as General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Compliance Officer. Leslie Curry is a seasoned litigator who
has distinguished herself in both private and government practice. Over the past fifteen years, Curry’s practice has
included civil jury trial litigation, personal injury, criminal defense, domestic relations, appellate and probate work.
While Curry most recently practiced in the General Civil Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, she
spent over a decade in private practice at Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop in Nashville and at Henry, Henry & Speer in
Pulaski.
Carney, Elkins and Curry all earned their law degrees from the University of Tennessee College of Law. In addition
to his J.D., Carney holds an LL.M in International Legal Studies from American University’s Washington College of
Law. Carney, Elkins and Curry are members of the Tennessee Bar Association and Nashville Bar Association.
