KING COUNTY – Darrell Bryan, a candidate for Seattle port commissioner
and retired Victoria Clipper CEO, is putting distance between himself and
the rest of the fundraising pack this week. In less than two months, his
campaign has outpaced its nearest competitor by nearly 2:1.
Bryan’s reputation of leadership within the maritime community is having a
substantial impact on his fundraising efforts. To date, the Bryan campaign
has amassed contributions totaling over $58,000 dollars; 91% of the
contributors are from Washington state.
“I am further motivated and appreciate the support from our community,”
said Bryan. “I believe this is a reflection of the region’s eagerness to
advance our specific call for good paying jobs, environmental stewardship,
and increased economic viability of our air and seaports.”
Bryan’s growing support now includes a rating of “very good” from the
Municipal League of King County. He’s also building coalitions in the south
Puget Sound. After their joint endorsement in early June, Tacoma Port
Commissioner Clare Petrich, and Bryan called for an update of the NW
Ports Air Emissions Inventory in 2016.
With less than a month to the primary, Darrell Bryan is continuing to gain
support.
