2. WHAT IS
HOLY
PLACES
ZINE?
Holy Places aims to capture the sacred in the every
day spaces in where we meet with friends, daydream,
shed tears, pray quietly, kiss loved ones, and connect
with others.
Laura Henschel
photographer + editor of Holy Places
Holy places are more inconspicuous than ordinary
places of worship. They do not belong to any one
religion or group, but to every person in general.
These places are hidden in plain sight. The sunny
coffee shop nook, the rooftop views overlooking the
city skyline, and well-loved nature trails are all deeply
spiritual public spaces with an understated beauty
and service to everyone.
