3. INTRODUCTION
Teachers play a big role in our life. They shape children’s
mind to recognize talents and goals that create a huge impact
to students. Although being a teacher is demanding, many
people have the opportunity to make a real difference.
Nowadays, teaching field expands and create a space for the
inclusion of LGBTQ teachers.
LGBTQ teachers have contributed a lot to their field
because they believe in the effectiveness of their teaching
technique. However, behind the various praise, not much
spotlight is given to their lived experience as a teacher.
This study aims to acknowledge the experience of the
LGBTQ teachers in teaching profession.
5. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study aims to determine the Lived Experience of
LGBTQIA+ Teachers in the teaching profession.
This study would like to answer the following questions:
1. Demographic profile of LGBTQIA+ Teachers in terms
of:
a. Sexual Orientation;
b. Finished degree;
c. Grade level taught; and
d. Number of years in the profession
2. What are the reasons why LGBTQIA+ members chose
teaching as a profession?
3. What are the difficulties faced by the LGBTQIA+
teachers in the teaching profession?

11. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The scope of the study is to focus on the members of
LGBTQIA+ Community in the Teaching Profession.
Teachers who identify as LGBTQIA+ can provide
valuable training and professional development for
their colleagues, helping to build a more inclusive
school community. This study will be conducted in
Tagkawayan National High School (TNHS). The
selection of the respondents are only gay teachers.
Therefore, this study includes providing support and
resources for LGTQIA+ teachers and creating safe
spaces for LGBTQIA+ students to learn and grow.

21. RESEARCH DESIGN
In order to obtain information for the study, interviews of
the phenomenological type were conducted. It was a
qualitative strategy with the goal of finding and outlining
current phenomena. The conclusions were based on the
lived experiences of the members of LGBTQIA+
community who work as teachers.
23. RESEARCH LOCALE
The study was conducted in Barangay Munting Parang Tagkawayan
Quezon. The place was chosen because that is the place where
LGBTQIA+ Educators teach. The respondents of the study were
identified for the best represent the study. It was believed that the
subjects in this locale can truly give important information as they
have the ability and knowledge to answer the question.
25. SUBJECT OF THE STUDY
The respondents of the study were composed of 5(five)
Gay teachers. They were selected as the subjects of the
research because they have the freedom to speak about
their own lived experience as a teachers.
27. POPULATION AND SAMPLING
The study focused on the teachers who are members of the
LGBTQIA+ community and prefer the teaching profession.
The subjects in the study were chosen through purposive
sampling. The 5(five) subjects will be interviewed by the
researchers. The study will only include participants who
agree to an interview.
29. RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS
The use of interview constructed to gather sufficient data on
the members of LGBTQIA+ community about their lived
experiences in the teaching profession. It is created by
providing evidence for the data acquired from relevant
literature and studies. The tools that will be used for the
examine must be valid and dependable.
31. DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
To conduct certain interviews for study, permission will be requested
from the research teacher, Mr. Johnlerey T. Erandio. Also, permission
will be requested from the individuals who the researchers plan to
interview. The researchers make sure that none of these subjects’
identities are compromised.
This interview will be conducted through surveys and questions. They
will have adequate time to respond to the researchers’ queries. It is made
sure that the response is voluntary.
Before being used in the research article, the answers to this question
will be evaluated.
