3. Hackney as a whole has seen 21% business growth
since 2004, nearly double London’s average rate, and
we are committed to maintaining the conditions that
will allow this trend to continue. This growth has been
concentrated primarily in digital media, technology
and consulting.
Wick is an area rich in potential, home to almost a
third of the Olympic Park, including the International
Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre which will
bring unrivalled digital connectivity to the area, and
part of the East London Tech City initiative. Major
transport improvements have already been made in
the area with direct links to the Underground network
and excellent international connections, with further
improvements planned.
Multi-million-pound plans are also in place to

14. The DIA Media Group has all of its companies’
headquarters in Hackney Wick for a number of reasons.
We had been operating all of our offices from sites
including Westminster, Camden, and Buckinghamshire
and needed to bring them all together under one roof, so
we required a space that was large enough and affordable.
Being in the heart of a regeneration zone sees the
landscape and outlook change on a daily basis, which is an
amazing catalyst for creative thinking. Hackney Wick will
no doubt become a perfect hotbed for new businesses and
families to live and work alongside each other for many
years after the London 2012 Games.
