An eye surgeron specialized in cataract surgery, lamellar corneal transplantations and refractive surgery. My medical degree was awarded with excellence at Universita degli Studi di Bologna, Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia, Italy. At completion of my residence in Ophthalmology I have sub-specialized in lamellar corneal transplantations (DALK, DSEK, DMEK) in the independent tertiary referral clinic Melles Cornea Clinic and at the Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where I was part of the research and development team of DMEK.
