(57) Abstract :
An improved monitoring system using RFID and GSM for use in educational institutes, automotive industries, commercial
organizations and financial transactions is disclosed here. A single RFID reader at the entrance of any organization is capable of
granting authentication to a person entering inside, which is far cheaper than the biometric or any voice-recording systems available in
the market. But what is required is not allowing authentication at the entrance but that too must be maintained for the entire
geographic area within the premises of the organization. Hence there must be a system which provides error-free, yet robust technique
to locate intruder as well as tracking down the authorized person in the premises. The tracking-down of a person is shown in a lucid
manner over here, which is far more flexible and an innovative concept. This is achieved by using simple radio-frequency transceivers
which are easily available in the market and are cheap too and assigning U.I.D to each person who is expected to enter in the
organizations premises. The U.I.D assigned remains compatible with the hardware used and much emphasis is given so that it remains
unique as well as accessible for different hardware interfaced in this monitoring system. Here the number of microcontrollers and
RFID used depend on the size of an organization, which can be easily increased as size increases by simple interfacing techniques.
