Sequence Statement
For me, the most challenging part of this project involved all of the time it took to edit each and
every single, individual photograph. I ended up having 166 photos, so that took A LOT of time to
get all of those images prepared and ready to be incorporated altogether into a video for the final
product for this project. I took a lot of photos for this project, but that part wasn’t hard for me,
because I enjoy photography. But after I had taken all of the photographs, going through all of the
photos from my camera, choosing which ones I wanted to ultimately use for my project, and THEN
editing all 166 photos took a lot of time for me. And then once all of that was finished, I had to put
it all together in a video, and the medium of video is not my favorite. It was a bit of an ordeal to
get some “free” no royalty no copyright ambient machine shop sounds to use in the background
of my video. What I ended up recording the day the weasel was moved was too staticky and not
going to work for ambience. However, after all of that work, I am proud of my final product. With
having to work in video, this project has increased my skillset in Adobe Premiere, which I am glad
for, since a lot of graphic media nowadays is video, so I am probably going to have to work with
it no matter what. It of course took about 25 minutes to render my 2 minutes and 38 seconds video,
which I ended up doing 4 times to get the video to where I wanted it (since the preview in Premiere
doesn’t show the full story of what the video will actually be like). I was actually inspired searching
online for ambient machine shop sounds; that was unexpectedly fun. I wouldn’t want to record
sounds as a job, but searching for sounds to use in my video helped me to be less afraid of and
stressed about video as a medium. I think that it was particularly helpful to see other students’
work for this project. It inspired me and gave me strength to tackle the medium of video that I had
to use for this project. This project has also strengthened my skills in using Adobe Bridge, which
I used A LOT with how many photos I originally took.
