Kimberley Dias is a pioneering investment professional whose achievements
over two decades make her an ideal candidate for the private equity industry.
An entrepreneur, she founded a fund that ranked in the top five among interna-
tional peers. Her extraordinary success as an investor reflects her vast knowl-
edge of many sectors and financial vehicles as well as her skill as an operational
manager. Disciplined and persistent, Ms. Dias can immediately contribute her
unique experience, training and talent to the private equity field.
Career History. Ms. Dias began her fulltime career in finance in 1997 as an
analyst in the investment banking division at Salomon Brothers, which became
a part of Citigroup. During the merger period, Ms. Dias effectively functioned
at the VP level providing the opportunity to build complex models, experience
high deal flow, attend client meetings and participate in most pitches in several
industry groups. From 2000—2006, she worked for leading investment firms such as the Perseus-Soros
Private Equity Fund and John A. Levin & Co. (for over four years until closure).
In 2006, Ms. Dias founded Affirmed Capital, LLC to consult for firms on investment vehicles such
as venture capital, turnarounds, equity/long short investments, PIPEs (private investment in a public
equity) and a wide range of event-driven alternative investments and special situations including asset
plays, hostile and friendly mergers and acquisitions, exchange offers, spin-offs, restructurings and
reorganizations. Clients became initial investors and provided references to found and launch an
investment fund in January 2008. Based on her fund’s positive performance in 2008 despite
unprecedented market conditions, Ms. Dias attracted seed capital financing of over $25 million from
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A., (BBVA), a multinational Spanish banking group, in December
of the same year. Her fund’s cumulative returns of 47% from 2008 through 2011 outperformed the
S&P 500 by 58% and maintained low volatility and low draw-downs. Ms. Dias hired and trained the
management team at Affirmed and had no turnover, reflecting the team’s fidelity to her leadership and
investment strategy.
In 2011, Ms. Dias joined Massif Partners as a partner to lead a market neutral fund, for which she
would be the sole portfolio manager. Ms. Dias brought her team from Affirmed Capital, LLC, as well as
the majority of her investment capital, with her to Massif Partners. Ms. Dias remained at Massif to fulfill
a one-year contractual non-compete agreement until 2012 when Ms. Dias devoted herself fully to a
parent who had medical needs. In 2013, Ms. Dias began consulting on special projects for various
investment firms including 1798 Consultants and RTW Funds.
In 2012, while Ms. Dias was in her native Florida, she developed a macro level economic theory which
would enable public companies to rebuild the middle class without changing current investment
techniques. Her model avoids controversial income redistribution. She has identified several public
companies which have the financial strength and leadership to implement the strategies in her model.

Academic Credentials. A graduate of St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire, Ms. Dias attended Princeton
University, receiving her BA with honors from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of International
Affairs and Public Policy. A McSpadden Scholar, she received a research grant for her thesis, which
addressed the risk to national security from genetic warfare, pandemics and fledgling healthcare
infrastructure in developing countries. She completed additional independent research on Middle
Eastern and African political issues such as the Suez Canal and deforestation. Her domestic public policy
research focused on minority parental involvement in education, and she interned in the New York City
Sanitation Department. At the Columbia University School of Business, where she received her MBA in
Finance, she was nominated for a Merit Scholarship.
Additional Experience.
Classical Ballet. Ms. Dias’ talent in classical ballet was identified in early childhood. She started
performing at age six and danced with a professional company at age 12. Through an international
search by the School of American Ballet, she was selected at age 12 to continue training in New
York City. Having received offers to dance professionally at age 16 in Europe and the United States,
she chose instead to continue her academic studies. She retains the extraordinary discipline, poise
and work ethic developed through dance.
Biomedical Research. While studying ballet, Ms. Dias joined the fight against AIDS by training first
in an infectious disease laboratory of the University of Florida. She later worked as a laboratory
technician at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in cytogenetics; there she received training
in clinical trial methodology and in biomedical research evaluation. She presently works with a
multidisciplinary Columbia University research team that is studying maternal-fetal predictors of
neurodevelopment disorders.
Civic Commitments. While at Salomon Brothers, Ms. Dias worked with Sir Deryck Maughan to co-
direct the Annual Wall Street Fundraiser for The New York Times Neediest Cases, which exceeded
historical fundraising efforts. She has volunteered for Robert I. Lipp, founder of Dance-On, a non-profit
organization supporting further education for New York City Ballet dancers. A founding member of the
Serenade Society of New York City Ballet, she also participates in Benefit Committees. Ms. Dias is a
member of the Hispanic Society of America. For over a decade, Ms. Dias volunteered weekly at the
Pediatric Playroom at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, receiving recognition for her service
and consistent contributions.
Ms. Dias also continues to support St. Paul’s School, Princeton University and the Woodrow Wilson
School of International Affairs and Public Policy.
