To whom it may concern,
Kevin worked as an Assistant Driller on my crew onboard the Essar Wildcat from January to June of
2014.
His role included overseeing a largely Indian crew with sometimes limited English skills and being a
driving force to ensure jobs being completed in a timely and professional manner. Being a manual
rig, Kevin also had to learn to operate a manual draw works with a “Servo Brake” to relieve his
Driller.
Kevin was a diligent worker and followed up on all things required and oversaw the tasks of his
subordinates to an acceptable standard. His role was made more challenging by circumstances
arising from contractual complications leading to mass down manning of the rig. Through no fault of
his own, Kevin, along with many others, was released from Essar when the contract was cut short
and funding pulled by the parent company.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kevin for any future role of this nature.
