Develop, administer, interpret, and
manage military historical programs
Acquire and manage funding for a
new California Military Museum
Establish and maintain a new website
of California’s military history

5. OUR GOAL
The California Military History
Foundation’s goal is to preserve
the military history of the State for
the education and the enjoyment
of present and future generations
and to establish a new California
Military and Veterans Museum.

6. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In March 2014 the California State Military Museum
in Old Sacramento was forced to close
The reason of the closure was due to withdrawal of
funding due to a dispute with a state agency
As part of a settlement, The California Military
History Foundation was able to retain many artifacts
which are now planned for public display

Our collection includes equipment, uniforms,
weapons and other artifacts from the United
States Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines,
Navy, and the California State Military Forces

The California Military History Foundation
has a large collection of:
Personal uniform items from all conflicts
Over 5,000 volumes of military history
Photographs and military documents
dating back to 1850s

13. WALL OF HONOR
The Wall of Honor was established and
dedicated to all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines
and Airmen From California who have
made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global
War on Terrorism
Sadly, it now sits in the dark in the closed
Museum building in Old Sacramento
