In May of 2012, Amicus proposed a solution to meet the
strategic need for an indoor athletic training facility for
Elmhurst College. The College was in need of freeing up
current space for students seeking recreational sport and
fitness facilities. The development of the facility would al-
so assist in the recruitment and retaining of student athletes
for their athletic program. The facility would be comprised
of 100,000 sq. ft. dome, 11,000 sq. ft. Office Space and
9,700 sq. ft. of storage space.

This 295,000 sq. ft. facility was meant to house indoor
football, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, and soccer. With
sufficient space to also incorporate an indoor track and
locker rooms. Would have served year round for sports and
activities for the Elmhurst park district, Elmhurst College,
Timothy Christian High school, and the Hillside Communi-
ty at large .

In 2000, The Sullivan Athletic Center opened its doors to
the home of the DePaul’s Athletic Department. It also
serves as the training facility for all Blue Demons varsity
sports. DePaul University is a Division I school and a
member of the Big East Conference. Inside Sullivan Ath-
letic Center is McGrath Arena, home of the Blue Demons
women’s basketball and volleyball teams. The facility is
also the home for varsity sports training such as; baseball,
basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis,
track and field, and volleyball. Designed by Antunovich
Associates the finished Sullivan Center consists of
65,4051 gross sq. ft.

Located on the DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Campus,
the Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center is a 123,000
sq. ft. facility that provides the DePaul community with
numerous fitness and recreation opportunities, including a
variety of facility spaces, equipment, programs, and ser-
vices. The facility offers a 12,000 sq. ft. strength and con-
ditioning area containing more than 100-pieces of cardio,
strength training, and free weight equipment. It also con-
tains a six-lane 25-yard swimming pool, 1/8-mile banked
jogging track, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and rac-
quetball courts. Designed by Antunovich Associates the
finished Ray Meyer Center consists of 123,000 gross sq. ft.

This proposal contemplates the creation of a unique college
prep campus in Maxwell, Texas. The 21st
century brought
huge change to the Higher Education world, transforming
the environment in which Higher Education institutes oper-
ate. This plan was inspired to create a program between
Benedictine University and NHI. Enabling both Benedic-
tine and NHI to develop and deploy a creative learning
pedagogy that not only provides human skills but trans-
forms the self-definition of the learner. Designed by EXP
the new campus would have been built on approximately
43,560 gross sq. ft.

This proposal contemplates the creation of the Louis Sulli-
van Student Union in close to many downtown institutions
including Robert Morris, Argosy, SAIC, and Kendall Col-
lege. The target audience is the young professional between
the ages of 18 and 35 enrolled in local undergraduate, grad-
uate, and continuing education programs. Amicus worked
to create concept modeling, market research, financial anal-
ysis, and feasibility studies.

The stunning new facility includes enhanced gallery, class-
room and library space, a 400-seat theatre, event space with
dramatic views of Lake Michigan and Grant Park, a chil-
dren’s center, a café, gift shop and state-of-the-art storage
capabilities for the collections of the Spertus Museum, the
Asher Library and the Chicago Jewish Archives all in
155,000 gross sq. ft.. After a lengthy review process in-
volving over 42 firms worldwide the final selection was
Krueck & Sexton were the final architectural choice.

Amicus was engaged at the inception of the development to
conduct a selection process for a partner who would invest
in the project. The selection process resulted in finding
such a partner for the university, after which the original
buildings were redeveloped and became home to a research
facility which provides access to pre-clinical services and
equipment.

The Rev. John T. Richardson Library is DePaul Universi-
ty's premier library facility. At 187,708 gross sq. ft. it hous-
es general campus resource collections, a student computer
center, special and rare book collections and art exhibit
space. The building was designed by Lohan Associates as
architects. In 1992 the John T. Richardson Library was a
finalist for the New Construction Project of the Year.

Roosevelt University’s Albert A. Robin Campus in subur-
ban Schaumburg has been catering to undergraduate and
graduate students in the northwest suburbs since 1976. In
2013 Amicus was working with the University in an off-
campus dorm for attending students. Intended to follow a
phased process; Phase 1 was designed immediately adja-
cent to the suburban campus and would have accommodat-
ed 213 beds in single, double, and quad style apartments.
Architectural work was done by FitzGerald Associates Ar-
chitects, the finished building would have measured
184,605 gross sq. ft.

University Center of Chicago represents Amicus’ finest
achievement in project development of new student resi-
dence. As awarded by Midwest Construction, the facility
holds the “Project of the Year—Residential/Housing” title
for 2004. A unique urban, mixed-use project in Chicago’s
South Loop, the UCC provides beds for 1,720 students rep-
resenting many Chicago colleges and universities living
together in the nation’s first residence hall of its kind. De-
signed by Antunovich Associates with VOA Associates,
the finished building measured 710,000 gross sq. ft.

In November 2010 Amicus was retained by The Resurrec-
tion Project (“TRP”) to assess the feasibility of a proposed
off-campus housing facility in the Pilsen Neighborhood of
Chicago, Illinois. This 100 bed facility with 1st floor retail
gives students access to resources typically not available
in the traditional off-campus student housing market creat-
ing a “Live and Learn” environment unique in the com-
munity and available to a multitude of students. The
building was designed by UrbanWorks, Ltd. In 2013 La
Casa was awarded 1st place for the Richard H. Driehause
Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Com-
munity Design.
