WINDANSEA RESTAURANT APPOINTS OWNER’S SON AS VP OF MARKETING
Highlands, N.J. – Joseph Shields appointed vice president of marketing at Windansea
Restaurant by owner and father, Daniel Shields, yesterday.
Co-owner, Robert Higgins, says, “After dedicating 10 years to the establishment,
including five years as a manager, Shields has proven to follow in his father’s footsteps as a
well-rounded businessman that will only help our company thrive.”
Prior to his appointment as vice president of marketing, Shields was the restaurant’s
manager for five years. Before working at Windansea Restaurant, Shields worked as a
marketing associate for KL Chains, Inc. Before becoming a marketing associate, Shields
started his career in the restaurant business as a waiter and busboy at Windansea
Restaurant.
Shields received his M.B.A. from Columbia in 2012. He earned a bachelor’s degree in
Communication in 2010. While there, he received a Marketing Management Certificate.
Currently, Shields is the vice president of the National Business Association. During his
time spent working for KL Chains, Inc., Shields assisted the company in receiving the sixth
spot on the National Business Association’s “Top Company Marketing Strategies of 2013.”
Windansea Restaurant, formerly known as Branin’s Lobster Wharf, opened in 2000
after its owners, Dan Shields and Robert Higgins, invested in a complete renovation. It is an
ocean-front establishment that features a dining area of more than 250 seats and a tiki
bar. The restaurant provides a venue for weddings, parties, and other gatherings.
