Experience
Carol Adelman, president of Movers & Shakespeares, has produced amateur theatre for years. She
served as a presidential appointee for foreign aid at the U.S. Agency for International Development,
heading a $3 billion aid program to Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe when the Wall fell. She is a
Board member of the American Shakespeare Center and author of a book and articles in the New York
Times, Foreign Affairs, Wall Street Journal, and technical journals. She has appeared on CNN, PBS, and
other media. Carol holds a Doctorate and Masters from Johns Hopkins University and a Masters from
Georgetown University.
Ken Adelman, Vice President, began teaching Shakespeare in 1977 at Georgetown and later at George
Washington Universities. He has a Masters and Doctorate from Georgetown, and is author or co-author of
six books, including Shakespeare in Charge, and most recently with the highly-acclaimed Reagan at
Reykjavik. Ken served President Reagan as an Ambassador to the U.N. and the U.S. Arms Control
Director, and has appeared frequently on television. While in Africa, he translated for Mohammad Ali at
the “Rumble in the Jungle” (1975), and was on the Zaire River Expedition for the 100
th
anniversary of
Stanley’s exploration. He is a Board member of the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
