1. We have been renting out our architect-designed beachside home, The Creek
House Coledale, for holiday accommodation over Christmas and January for the
past three years. The house sleeps 8, with 3 Queen beds and 2 Singles. In 2016
we employed Kathleen Van Veenendaal to oversee the smooth functioning of the
rental process in our absence.
Kathleen was responsible for representing us to clients where they required
assistance with the house. She inspected and assessed the house once the guests
had vacated, making detailed notes of missing or damaged items and also
conducted pre-stay inspections to ensure that the house was presented in the
immaculate condition that we expect to provide. This included ensuring that the
house was stocked with provisions, including milk, tea, coffee, soap etc. At each
changeover, Kathleen took the initiative in sending thank you notes on our behalf
to guests and asking for feedback so that we could improve our service. At the
end of the rental period, Kathleen provided us with a detailed 4-page report on
the use of the house together with images.
Kathleen was friendly, efficient and thorough in every respect. We were
confident to leave our house in her competent hands, and would recommend her
to other property owners as a skilled and trustworthy manager.
