LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
Karthik was certainly one of my favourite student. A sound identification of personal strengths and weaknesses and
enterprising efforts to close learning gaps was an admirable of his personality. He was a determined individual who
stepped up his efforts substantially over the semesters to reach a point of consummate authoritative knowledge in
academic topics. I have been particularly impressed by his steady focus and the sustained momentum he maintained
which in turn reflected in his climbing scores ranking among the top ten in his class.
Karthik’s learning was by no means confined to prescribed syllabi or lectures. I was his tutor and head of the
Department. I taught him ‘Material Science and Metallurgy’. He explored at length, drawing information from diverse
sources, one of which was detailed follow –up discussions after lectures.
Karthik utilised the opportunities afforded by the institution to the maximum, augmenting his knowledge firmly at the
internship which he completed at Bosch Limited where he worked on the assembly of PF45 and PF51 pumps. Studied
the Common Rail Systems (CRS) and Multicylinder fuel injection pumps. He gathered valuable exposure to real world
environments and situations. He established contacts, learnt extensively and tested his competencies successfully.
These highly interactive venues were platforms where he learnt differently, ideating and gaining insights into the
professional world outside. I am of the opinion that he brought back notes from these sessions which he judiciously
applied at later stages of his studies.
Accurate in his assessments, Karthik was a strong shoulder team members could rely on during collaborative project
work. I was delighted to observe increased participation and high levels of interest in every subject. He thrived on
class discussions that demanded multiple level thinking and the need to attend to a number of processes at once.
Good mathematical abilities, social perceptiveness and infectious energy are attributes that will enhance his
professional career.
I have no doubt that granting Karthik entry into your Masters stream will only be adding value to your student base.
Alongside academic excellence he will also don roles of responsibility in a self-motivated fashion with the larger
interests of the department and campus in mind.
