1. Kansas Business Hall of Fame Nominations
The Kansas Business Hall of Fame has served to recognize the phenomenal heritage of Kansas
Business Leadership since 1987. Housed at the Emporia State University School of Business, it
features two awards, the Historical Heritage Award and the Contemporary Honors Award. Dr.
Jeffrey Muldoon, Executive Director of the Kansas Business Hall of Fame, describes the purpose
of the organization and legacy of past recipients, saying, “History provides lessons, insights, and
even inspiration to succeeding generations. The members of the Kansas Business Hall of Fame
provide outstanding examples of excellent, ethical and dynamic leadership and inspire the
current and future generations of Kansans to achieve excellence themselves.”
The Board of Directors encourages students, chambers of commerce, businesses and other
organizations to nominate outstanding business individuals.
The Historical Heritage Award is given to a person who has made contributions to Kansas
Business that establish that person as meriting preservation as a historical figure. The individual
must have been deceased for no less than five years.
The Contemporary Honors Award is given to a contemporary, living business leader of Kansas.
The individual may show outstanding leadership in Kansas business, or may be a native Kansan
who has achieved national recognition.
The Board is accepting nominations for 2017 recipients through October.
