1. Growing up in a family headed by a full-time musician, I have been immersed
in the business all my life. I have learned what questions to ask and that the number
of people often means less than how the crowd reacted (unless you're playing for
the door of course.) I have learned that louder is not necessarily better. I have
learned what a scam looks like, what works, and to always prepare for the worst. I
have seen every emotion one can feel onstage, and through all this I have seen why
musicians do what they do and why they deserve so much support. I want to be in
the music business because I want to help people that put everything into their
passion succeed.
I want to represent artists that I believe in and help them tell their story. I
believe that professional musicians deserve to be treated with the same respect as
any other professional and I will strive to be the best representative I can be for my
future clients. I want to help artists reach the world with their music. It seems to me
that popular music has lost so much of what made has made it fun and powerful in
the past. I am seeing so many new artists who, in an attempt to be the coolest, most
"real" thing, lose their music in favor of moodiness and political statements. If art's
place in our world is to reveal the truth, then I think there is a place for truth of all
kinds rather than just what is trendy. As a professional I plan to focus on the truths
that have become less hip in recent years; I believe there is still a place for theatrics,
pomp, wit, and fun in music. I plan to show artists everything that their art has the
potential to do and how they can do it. I am creative, confident, and extremely
passionate about what music means to artists and their fans. I aspire to change the
business and be the person my heroes want to meet. Someday, I hope to look back
and know that I had a hand in building dreams that had all the odds stacked against
them.
