1. Artist’s Statement
It all began as a game, having fun with the possibilities of cinematic
narration. I was like a child stumbling into something new and finding out
how it works. I still feel the same every time I turn on my camera. Upon
this playing, my rational process has somehow changed. I want to share
and communicate with my audience.
I am curious whether a moment exists where two people understand each
other completely. We are molded by our experiences individually.
Therefore, it is hard to show where one is coming from. I would like to
think that a moment exists when rational processes stop and we share
something unique and universal about being a human; whether it is
between two people in a relationship or a filmmaker and an audience.
In my work I try to turn my experiences into cinematic puzzles. I want to
make art that seems like a diary, insights on canvas. Even if only one
person in the audience understands, I have gotten closer to that feeling of
sharing that I think is the most important part of humanity.
