Fields in Create Policy Form
Name * Give a Name for Policy Object
Description Optional
Meta data Optional
Rate Limit Maximum number of messages to be premitted in every 5-min window
Min Length Minimum length of a message that a device must send
Max Length Maximum length of a message that a device can send
SubTopic Length Length of the Subtopic that should be permitted
SubTopic Whitelisting List in comma separated strings. For e.g., when user enters tempsensor,vibrsensor
The platform will whitelist the topic appended toi allowed device topic.
Assuming ‘t/qwejdgh1’ is the allowed topic of the device, following topics are whitelisted
‘t/qwejdgh1’ <by virtue of the device being added or authenticating with the platform>
‘t/qwejdgh1/tempsensor’ <by virtue of this policy>
‘t/qwejdgh1/vibrsensor’ <by virtue of this policy>
Any other sub topic is considered black listed.
Check Box Check this, if all the above Policy parameters are to be considered with ‘AND’ operation,
That is, all the above parameter breach is considered policy breach.
Uncheck if any one of the parameter breach were to be considered policy breach.

Once the policy is created, it can be attached
to a device
Policy attachment is done during “Device
Add” procedure
Device Addition Form shows the list of
policies defined and available in the platform
Select the policy name to attach it to the
device(s)
When the added-device sends messages to
the platform the policies are enforced

If a policy breach / violation is identified, an
event is generated
This event can be received in a user-defined
