Pricing
Digital marketing strategy
As this project is based in the future, there is no certain way to
know pricing, every price shown in the prototype are subject to
change. As per Goldman Basch, robots should drop their pro-
duction costs by 20% yearly, up to 2035 to be able to make the
robots profitable in 2 years of “being in the streets”.
The expectation of robot prices still varies from 3000 to 20000
depending in the technology used, but as robots become more
“massive” in factories, the price may drop further.
Everything is tied to speculations and no certain pricing
can be set now

Keepex 35
First step (ideating)
First step was about selecting an industry.
we knew that want to make something
around robotics. and that was the only clue
we had. we started to talk about a lot of
industries and used crazy 8 technique to
generate more idea on general topic of using
robots mainly in people’s daily life.
what is happening out there?
what is current situation?
do we need to focus on industrial robots?
or do we need to focus on robots in public spaces?
or robots in private spaces?
The Double Diamond Design Thinking
Process
UX Process and User Research Result
Keepex 36
Key outcome:
The topics that exist in the field of robotics are very diverse.
Ideas collected in the fields of caring robots (private and public
spaces), smart city (public spaces), industrial robots and Domo-
tics robots (private spaces) seems to be more interesting than
other fields.
It was decided that for the next stage, a series of studies rela-
ted to the mentioned areas will be conducted and metrics will
be made to create focus and convergence on an idea.
Keepex 37
Second step (Desk Research and Converge)
In this research cycle, we tried to clarify our target
area by creating few criteria:
• Access to market information: If it’s possible to
obtain previous data research and if it’s applicable
for next steps.
• Access to users: How easy we can have
access to Users of target industry.
• The possibility of predicting the future: If we
can predict the next 10 years changes based on
current data and analysis.
• Team members’ interest in the field: How much our team
passionate about the target industry in general.
Based on our gathered data on each subject we considered a
number between 5(high value) to 1 (low value).
Key outcome:
• Research about work environment needs paperwork and may con-
front many obstacles
• Asking users in public spaces consume huge energy and needs
on-site research
• People using AI assistant in private spaces mostly and it is easy to
get access to those kinds of users.
• Conducting research on using more complicated solutions for private
spaces could be insightful.
• Finally decided to continue our research in house spaces.
• What’s going on in houses with ai assistant solutions.
It was obvious to put our focus on in-house robots but value number of
caring robots was close to Domotics. We decided to put our efforts to
consider caring robots features as a plus value and see if we can add
caring feature to in-house use robots if we could.
Keepex 38
Third and Fourth Steps
(User Interviews and deduction)
By now we already know to focus on in-house
processes, and we need to know what is
happening in people’s normal day whether they
are working from home or on-site.
So we decided to understand the user flow of AI
assistant which known as Home Assistant or
Smart Speakers and ask people about their
experience of having Amazon Alexa or Google
Home smart speakers.
• what are smart assistant user pain which they wish to re-
move
• what are the most usable features of smart assistant
• which routines are crucial for users of smart devices
• which opportunities are lied down for us to take
We Interviewed 5 people in four different continents.
Average age of users 34 Between 23 to 44 male and female.
All of our participants were busy, tech related and were produc-
tive in their lives.
interview questions could be find in appendix section.
Keepex 39
Key outcome:
• Based on the experience of the interviewed users, smart
speakers are not smart enough as the users expected.
• Their main use of these devices is as alarm clock, remin-
der, play music and fast short search on internet.
• Collective pain: cannot follow questions, connect other de-
vices to smart speaker as a hub, misunderstanding commands,
not useful as users expected.
• What wishes users have: They wish those devices could
take burden from their shoulder, help them do their jobs faster,
more efficient and more effective and help them be more pro-
ductive.
•
How can we help busy individuals to achieve their goals? to be
more productive and also have more free time to do whatever
they want?
We knew that we can utilize robots with AI generated persona-
lities in our way to achieve our goal and to serve our users in
the end. But we did not know how use robots to serve users,
because of that at first, we needed to get information about our
users’ daily life, beyond using Smart home or other little devi-
ces, to understand their habit, daily flow and their experiences,
pians and frustrations.
Fifth Step: survey and interview with 68 participant
We conduct a survey to realize how people d
housework and how they manage it normally.
We wanted to know which activity in the house
s a pain and which one of them is enjoying.
Also to know how much time they spend normally
to do their duties, if they use extra hands or doing
t by themselves.
We create the survey and translate to Persian and
Spanish to have more participant.
Keepex 40
63 people participate in our survey. Also Interview with 5 peo-
ple.
The survey questionnaire and interview questions are accessi-
ble in appendix part.
Less than a half of them were housekeeper and rest of them
have a job outside of house.
Key outcome:
• Most time-consuming house chores are cleaning (vacuum
and mop mostly), cooking, washing dishes, washing clothes,
dusting, organizing and cleaning bathroom
• The most enjoyable chore is cooking
• Most painful chores are vacuuming, mopping, dusting, or-
ganizing and cleaning bathroom
• Our participant spent 1-2 hours a day doing house chores
• House chores are mainly done by home owners, other
ways of doing the chores are using cleaning companies, online
services and using auto vacuum cleaners
Keepex 41
Conclusion:
using robot to help users doing their chores looks reasonable.
But how can we put such pioneer idea in front of users and ex-
pect them to find it useful, desirable and effective.
Sixth Step: User Expectation Interviews ofhaving robots (4
Participant)
• In this step we wanted to know how user could
become aware of using robot as a service or as a
product and what is their expectation?
• After being aware how users going forward
and which step is next move?
• How user expect to obtain the product, online
or physically?
• Which feature of robot is more important,
whichfeatures are not necessary and so on?
• How product should be delivered to user?
• What are users’ preferences of visuals and functionalities of
robot?
Key outcome:
• Price sense: user expectation of a robot price is far different
from reality. Users expect the price of a housekeeper robot to
be in the range of 10K Euro, while robots that have the abili-
ty and intelligence to do housework are estimated to be much
more expensive than the mentioned number.
• As we already aware of from prior researches: Users prefer
to not to think of doing chores anymore. We called this prefe-
rence as a “Dream Situation”
• Word of mouth from a familiar face has more powerful moti-
vation to use this product compared to other channels like so-
cial media, newsletter update, direct email and environmental
ads. This means we need to keep the initial customers extre-
mely satisfied and go beyond their initial expectations.
• Users prefer that the robot knows its tasks and performs all
the expected tasks by scanning the environment and identifying
obstacles from the moment it is turned on.
Keepex 42
• From the user’s point of view, the robot should be able to
do more. Cleaning the car, filling the gas tank, taking care of
children and the elderly, taking the pets out, shopping and en-
tertaining people.
Conclusion:
It seems that buying such robots is not very feasible, although
the desire of users to use such robots is strongly confirmed, but
there is a need to provide people with access to such an expe-
rience in another way.
Seventh Step: User Expectation Interviews Renting instead
of having (3 Participant)
If you had a platform for renting robot, What did
you do with it? (Usage case) tell me about
important ones.
- You prefer use it daily, hourly, weekly, monthly?
- How much are you willing to pay for it?(Maximum)
- Do you want to have access to the robot at all
times?
- Do you mind if the robot comes to your place
from time to time when its needed?
- What are your expectations of it knowing this is
an expensive service
- Are you going to set the robot to come when you are in or out-
side the house?
- what is your expectation of this platform, what would you think
is needed to show you, access to?
Conclusion:

User journeys
To create a product that will be useful and desirable, we nee-
ded to understand the journey of our key personas.
Keepex 50
The next user journey represents one of the iteration of our
project before pivoting to the rental platform. This version was
selling our own produced robot able to clean efficiently and
effectively.
Why for us the customer journey is important? Tony Fadell (in-
ventor of the Ipod, Iphone and Nest) said in Reddit on his AMA
in the r/Technology subreddit that the customer journey is what
companies should focus on to create a succesful product, given
his expertise in creating innovative products we decided to fo-
llow what he has said.
By analizing well the customer journeys and working on them,
we can make sure to understand in which touchpoints of the
journey we can create a better experience, overall enhancing it
for the user.
In this cases, the main painpoint was the accessibility and how
easy it was to get a robot, also connectivity with the user.

Backend Definition and Connections
MVP goal
Backend Architecture:
Adopt a microservices architecture to ensure scalability and
flexibility.
Properly defining the backend components ensures that the
platform can handle increasing demand without sacrificing per-
formance.
Backend Components:
Utilize technologies like Express.js for API development, Mon-
goDB for the database, and Redis for caching.
managing data storage and retrieval. It includes defining the
database structure, selecting suitable database technologies,
and implementing efficient data access and manipulation pro-
cesses.
Integration Points:
Integrate with external services such as payment gateways,
robot inventory management systems, and notification services
for real-time updates.
Determine the integration methods, APIs, and protocols requi-
red for seamless communication between your platform and
these external services.
Build a functional platform with essential features like user re-
gistration, robot search and booking, payment processing, and
basic customer support.
Define success criteria based on metrics such as user engage-
ment, conversion rates, and positive user feedback.
Keepex 66
Conducting the usability test was essential for several reasons.
By observing and analyzing user interactions with the prototype
on the Figma platform, we aimed to:
Assess User Efficiency: Understanding how efficiently
users performed the assigned tasks provided valuable insights
into the effectiveness of our platform’s design and interface. By
measuring task completion times and success rates, we gained
an understanding of how well users were able to navigate and
utilize the features of the rental robot platform.
Evaluate Flow and Understanding: The usability test hel-
ped us assess how easily users comprehended the flow of the
web page. By observing their interactions and gathering fee-
dback, we gained insights into areas where the user journey
could be streamlined, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive
experience for users.
Identify Confusion Points: Identifying instances where
users expressed doubt or confusion during the test allowed us
to pinpoint specific areas of the platform that may require fur-
ther clarification or improvement. By understanding the pain
points and areas where users encountered difficulties, we could
address those issues and enhance the overall usability of the
platform.
Additionally, the demographic diversity of the test group, en-
compassing participants from different age ranges and geo-
graphic locations, ensured a comprehensive evaluation of the
platform’s usability across different user profiles and cultural
contexts.
Usability testing
Keepex 67
Key Findings:
Based on the results of the usability test, we made the following
observations:
General Understanding: The majority of participants de-
monstrated a clear understanding of the overall concept of the
rental robot platform, recognizing its purpose and value propo-
sition.
UX Writing Improvement: Almost all participants encounte-
red difficulties understanding certain UX writing aspects, speci-
fically the distinction between Plans and types of Entities. This
finding highlights the need for improved clarity and communica-
tion in these areas to enhance user comprehension.
Successful Customer Journeys: All users were able to
navigate through the platform and accomplish their intended
goals. This indicates that the proposed customer journeys were
effective in guiding users to their desired outcomes.
Why we did it:
The usability test allowed us to gather crucial feedback and in-
sights to improve the overall user experience of our rental robot
platform. By understanding user efficiency, flow, and potential
confusion points, we can refine the platform’s design, enhance
clarity in UX writing, and ensure that users can easily navigate
and achieve their goals. Ultimately, this iterative approach ba-
sed on user feedback will lead to a more user-friendly and suc-
cessful platform that meets the needs and expectations of our
target audience.

First Interview with Smart Home device owners:
Before the interview begins, ask if they are comfortable being
recorded, reminding them that this is for research only purpo-
ses.
First - Welcome the person to the interview, ask them their
name, age, where they are from, their occupation.
Questions: This questions are meant to familiarize the partici-
pant to the topic
1. Do you have a home assistant? Which one?
2. What do you use it for? (if their answer is too short or
doesn’t explain enough) What other usages do you have in
mind for it?
3. How easy was it’s setup?
4. Could you tell us what a home assistant is for you?
5. Why did you decide to buy a home assistant?
6. How often do you use it? and what purposes
After the questions, talk about their experience, what they feel
when they use these devices, what are their concerns, what
they feel the devices lack, let it be a fluid dialogue.
Questions: This questions are more precise, so they are asked
after the first batch of questions and after the talk about how
they feel about the devices
1. Do you connect home assistants to other smart devices?
Which ones?
2. Does the device answer fast enough? Does it always un-
derstand you?
3. Where do you have the home assistant located? Do you
change the location normally?
4. What are the most useful features of these devices for
you?
Interview guide and questions
Appendix
Keepex 69
5. Has it made any aspect of your life easier? If yes, which
one?
6. Has it ever made you feel more productive in any way?
7. Have you ever wished for a feature this device doesn’t
have?
8. Have you ever had issues with it? What about privacy
issues? Like hearing from you.
9. AFTER ANSWER, What would you think if it could use its
camera to see (imagine that there is a camera on it)
10. Would it be better if it got context from seeing you with its
camera? or watching to who is it talking to
11. Would you grade your home assistant? maybe from 1 to
10. IF LOW SCORE (Under 7) Why did you give that grade to
it? IF HIGH SCORE (7 AND OVER) What are the highlights of
this device?
12. What kind of value do you feel from this device?
13. What are your suggestions on how this device could im-
prove?
14. Are you worried about your children’s privacy with this
device?
Temp question: which question you wish to ask you that we
missed?
Always remember that the conversation should be fluid, not just
ask questions, the participant needs to feel like they are the
one telling a story.
If you feel you can get more information in a question, you can
always go deeper with asking whys, use the ladder technique.
Keepex 70
Second Interview questions for house-
hold duties:
Start by telling the person that they will be recorded for investi-
gation purposes, that any information will only be used for this
investigation.
Let them say their name, age and what they do. The interview
is about house chores and how time consuming it is for people,
and we want to understand deeply what part of what chore is
the one that people really don’t like doing
- How do you typically stay on top of your household tasks and
responsibilities? Do you use any tools or apps to help you ma-
nage your schedule or keep track of your tasks?
- How do you manage to balance your house chores with other
responsibilities such as work, family obligations, or social activi-
ties?
- Have you ever felt like you needed more support or assistan-
ce with your household tasks (a person or a robot)? If so, what
did you do to address this need?
- What are some of the most frustrating aspects of keeping your
home clean and organized?
- What are the biggest challenges you face when it comes to
managing your household tasks and responsibilities?
- What are some of the most time-consuming house chores that
you find particularly exhausting?
- Are there any house chores that you absolutely hate doing?
If so, why? (Whichever they say they hate) Ask why again (IM-
PORTANT)
----------- Why is that house chore so daunting? What specifica-
lly makes you dislike it?
Keepex 71
----------- (Examples of questions for cleaning) What place spe-
cifically you don’t like cleaning? Why that place? does it change
how you clean the place?
----------- (Examples of questions for cooking) What part of the
cooking process do you dislike? Why that part? Is it every time?
- What are the most common mistakes (or bad habits if they
don’t understand) that people make when it comes to house
chores? How do you avoid making these mistakes yourself?
(interesting)
- If we had some tips for you about how to make that chore you
dislike faster, would you want it? would you maybe pay?
- Finally, what advice would you give to someone who is strug-
gling to keep up with their household tasks and responsibilities?
How can they overcome the inconvenience and create a more
manageable routine?
Keepex 72

  • 39. Keepex 39 Key outcome: • Based on the experience of the interviewed users, smart speakers are not smart enough as the users expected. • Their main use of these devices is as alarm clock, remin- der, play music and fast short search on internet. • Collective pain: cannot follow questions, connect other de- vices to smart speaker as a hub, misunderstanding commands, not useful as users expected. • What wishes users have: They wish those devices could take burden from their shoulder, help them do their jobs faster, more efficient and more effective and help them be more pro- ductive. • How can we help busy individuals to achieve their goals? to be more productive and also have more free time to do whatever they want? We knew that we can utilize robots with AI generated persona- lities in our way to achieve our goal and to serve our users in the end. But we did not know how use robots to serve users, because of that at first, we needed to get information about our users’ daily life, beyond using Smart home or other little devi- ces, to understand their habit, daily flow and their experiences, pians and frustrations. Fifth Step: survey and interview with 68 participant We conduct a survey to realize how people d housework and how they manage it normally. We wanted to know which activity in the house s a pain and which one of them is enjoying. Also to know how much time they spend normally to do their duties, if they use extra hands or doing t by themselves. We create the survey and translate to Persian and Spanish to have more participant.
  • 40. Keepex 40 63 people participate in our survey. Also Interview with 5 peo- ple. The survey questionnaire and interview questions are accessi- ble in appendix part. Less than a half of them were housekeeper and rest of them have a job outside of house. Key outcome: • Most time-consuming house chores are cleaning (vacuum and mop mostly), cooking, washing dishes, washing clothes, dusting, organizing and cleaning bathroom • The most enjoyable chore is cooking • Most painful chores are vacuuming, mopping, dusting, or- ganizing and cleaning bathroom • Our participant spent 1-2 hours a day doing house chores • House chores are mainly done by home owners, other ways of doing the chores are using cleaning companies, online services and using auto vacuum cleaners
  • 41. Keepex 41 Conclusion: using robot to help users doing their chores looks reasonable. But how can we put such pioneer idea in front of users and ex- pect them to find it useful, desirable and effective. Sixth Step: User Expectation Interviews ofhaving robots (4 Participant) • In this step we wanted to know how user could become aware of using robot as a service or as a product and what is their expectation? • After being aware how users going forward and which step is next move? • How user expect to obtain the product, online or physically? • Which feature of robot is more important, whichfeatures are not necessary and so on? • How product should be delivered to user? • What are users’ preferences of visuals and functionalities of robot? Key outcome: • Price sense: user expectation of a robot price is far different from reality. Users expect the price of a housekeeper robot to be in the range of 10K Euro, while robots that have the abili- ty and intelligence to do housework are estimated to be much more expensive than the mentioned number. • As we already aware of from prior researches: Users prefer to not to think of doing chores anymore. We called this prefe- rence as a “Dream Situation” • Word of mouth from a familiar face has more powerful moti- vation to use this product compared to other channels like so- cial media, newsletter update, direct email and environmental ads. This means we need to keep the initial customers extre- mely satisfied and go beyond their initial expectations. • Users prefer that the robot knows its tasks and performs all the expected tasks by scanning the environment and identifying obstacles from the moment it is turned on.
  • 42. Keepex 42 • From the user’s point of view, the robot should be able to do more. Cleaning the car, filling the gas tank, taking care of children and the elderly, taking the pets out, shopping and en- tertaining people. Conclusion: It seems that buying such robots is not very feasible, although the desire of users to use such robots is strongly confirmed, but there is a need to provide people with access to such an expe- rience in another way. Seventh Step: User Expectation Interviews Renting instead of having (3 Participant) If you had a platform for renting robot, What did you do with it? (Usage case) tell me about important ones. - You prefer use it daily, hourly, weekly, monthly? - How much are you willing to pay for it?(Maximum) - Do you want to have access to the robot at all times? - Do you mind if the robot comes to your place from time to time when its needed? - What are your expectations of it knowing this is an expensive service - Are you going to set the robot to come when you are in or out- side the house? - what is your expectation of this platform, what would you think is needed to show you, access to? Conclusion: User Personas this user pesonas were made after all our interviews, we will go deep in them to be able to empathize with our user personas.
