Convergence Center for Policy Resolution was established to solve seemingly intractable social and policy problems through trust, agreement, and cooperation between conflicting groups. It convenes diverse stakeholders through a five-stage process to build trust, develop shared solutions, and take action on critical issues like education, nutrition, long-term care, and US-Pakistan relations. Convergence is seeking $5 million over multiple years to complete current projects, start new ones on economic mobility and incarceration, expand operations, and train others in its collaborative methods.

Convergence Center for Policy Resolution
Convergence was
established to fill a gap in our
nation’s capacity to solve
seemingly intractable social
and policy problems.
We believe that the wisest and
most durable solutions can best
be achieved by empowering
diverse and conflicting
groups of influence to agree
on solutions and the actions
needed to achieve them.
Given the complexity of the
issues facing our increasingly
divided nation thismaybethe
best way forward.

nursing home care, health care providers,
consumer and advocacy groups, policy
experts, and foundations.
Our Projects
U.S.-Pakistan Leaders Forum
Creating new leadership networks among
American and Pakistani business, civil society
and government leaders that generate new
partnerships, new investment and improved
understanding between these two critical
allies. Participants include leaders in
education, media, social development,
entrepreneurship, arts and culture, civil
society and government.
We convene people and groups with conflicting
views to build trust, identify solutions, and form
alliances for action. Our proven process has five
main stages:
Our Process
This approach leverages the intellectual and
financial resources of groups already working on
these issues and redirects them toward a
common purpose!
We ask our friends and partners to join a
new $5M Campaign for
Collaboration. We seek multi-year
commitments that will provide essential
funding to achieve the following:
1) Complete our four current projects
2) Research and operate new
projects on issues such as economic
mobility/opportunity and the high rates
of incarceration in the United States
3) Build our organizational
infrastructure, expand our ability to
communicate our message, and train
others in our methods
To generate breakthrough
solutions on intractable issues of
national consequence
To inspire greater use of
collaborative processes for
problem solving at local, state,
national and international levels
To help build a more functional,
civil, and hopeful society
Our Vision
Join Us
Identify a critical national issue where
division or a failure to share experience
and knowledge across conflicting views
stands in the way of progress.
Through research and interviews, map the
key players and positions on the issue.
Develop a unifying framework to enroll
diverse, influential stakeholders to engage
in sustained dialogue.
Through facilitated conversations, explore
the underlying interests and values of
participants. Engage in shared learning to
create a common factual framework.
Over a sustained period of meetings,
develop shared recommendations for
action that generate the widespread
support and enthusiasm of participants.
Stakeholders and outside partners
implement an action plan designed for
impact, with continued support from
Convergence as needed.
